The sidewalk contruction on E Winslow Rd has been going on since winter. The project has more says with no one working on it than working on it. today I saw only 4 men on the whole project and none of them were doing any work at 11 AM. Lots of road projects in Bloomington are started and then left abandoned for months. As a resident I don't like this. If they start something they ought to work on it till finished then move on. Im frustrated with the disruption that has been going on for 7 months for a very small project.

So my driveway and the sidewalk has been completely gone for a month now, without any notice from the city. Progress... It has been replaced with loose gravel, a mess of heavy equipment traffic, and ... nothing for many weeks now. My wife cannot drive her small car over this mess without bottoming out. I haven't been able to drive my motorcycle over this mess because it's too soft for a full touring bike. The contractors spend all their time making an even bigger mess of soft gravel. Mayor Hamilton: when will you make this virue signaling mess a priority? I want my front yard back. I want my driveway back. I want my sidewalk back. FINISH IT SOON.

There are multiple low-hanging trees on the south side of E Hagan Street that make the sidewalk difficult to pass. I believe these are city-maintained trees on the easement.

There are two signs that were blocking the sidewalk all summer saying that the sidewalk ahead was closed for construction. They never served any useful purpose and the construction has been done for weeks. Someone moved them onto the grass, but they should be taken away because you can still bump your head on them.

An area of new sod immediately adjacent to the sidewalk and between the sidewalk and street has collapsed (in some places to a depth of 9 inches) in such a way that it is unsafe for bicyclists or pedestrians who may veer off the sidewalk even very briefly. We believe this sod was laid after the ground was dug for installation of the fiber cable for Gigabit Now. We (University Baptist Church) are not certain of the best agency to contact about the problem, and we are hoping that you will either take care of it or direct us to the correct people to contact. South bound lane,West side of street, going uphill, there is a prominent outward portion of the curbing. It is painted yellow, but now black from repeated contact by vehicle tires. It needs to be rounded off, and move toward the sidewalk. When I struck this prominent angled curb, it resulted in a blowout of my right front tire. The Bland wrecker truck driver said “ Oh, I get lots of business from that curb” so my experience is not unique. Please fix for the nest drivers, and contact me if there are any questions. For over a year, both the owner and tenant of this location have made repeated offenses against city code - including dumping yard waste in the ally, not picking up trash in yard and on sidewalk, having multiple broken down cars parked (for over a year) on property without attempts to repair/remove them. Owners are constantly parking on sidewalk for days at a time. Tenants have aggressive dog that has jumped the fence and attacked people. Blue car in front of house (with flat tires) hasn't moved in over a year, and does not run. Blue SUV doesn't run, and hasnt moved in months. Trash and recycle bin are constantly over flowing and spilling trash. Bins are never removed from sidewalk. Witnesses have caught tenants throwing trash into neighbors yard.

I submitted Case #180206 on June 5, but Jo Strong mistakenly closed it on June 9, saying "no sidewalk at this location. I gave the location of the owner of the sidewalk, but the sidewalk is on the south side of their property, while their driveway is on the north side. The overgrown sidewalk is on Fields Drive. Jo Strong also said, "Is address correct?", but there was no way for me to respond. Please reopen this case. I attached a photo (although it isn't showing or acknowledged), but the situation has grown worse since I took this photo.
