Received a complaint from Julia Tobin at 4307 E. Bill Mallory Blvd regarding a 6" hole near the neighborhood mailboxes at the end of her driveway. It appears to be a location for fiber optics(?). She called AT&T but they said it was the city's issue. She's concerned that this hole could cause an injury. Who needs to be contacted to take care of this hole? Her ph# 812-345-3399. There is a construction sign that was left in our yard from some work that was being done in the neighborhood awhile ago. I think it had to do with laying fiber, but I'm not sure. Can this sign be picked up?

I live down the street from a construction site which is consistently incredibly noisy very early in the morning. I have reported this construction site for noise violations before, and the problem was, for a time, resolved. However, the problem has started again as they are once again beginning work early in the morning (around 5 a.m.) which, I am aware, is well before the time they are supposed to start even staging for their operations. I am an IU grad student and I need to be able to rest. I am aware that my neighborhood is in a rather defunct part of town, but people still live here and need to be able to function as normal. My neighborhood is undergoing fiber installation. On 9/6 and 9/7, my yard housed a large tractor. Now that the install in complete, I am left with a yard that is partially destroyed by the utility contractor. The grass is gone, the yard is no longer level, there are multiple drill holes large, and there is a lengthy bulge from the cable plow. Rather than leave my lawn in the same condition, the contractor laid hay and grass seed. This will not create a lawn being that it's fall and won't take, and it will not level my lawn. I've tried to communicate with the workers but they do not understand me, as they are not English speakers. Who can I communicate my issues with?

I am trying to find out who is responsible for this cable. It is connected to one box near Kinser and Rosewood and runs 246+ feet north to another box. It has been in my yard since early May. I asked the people doing the trenching for fiber network and they said it is not theirs. I asked someone from Btown Utilities, and again, they said it is not their cable. I again went to the people trenching in my neighborhood and they said they believe it may be AT&T. I have to move this cable out into the road every single week in order to mow the grass. How do I find out, other than ripping it out of the 2 boxes, whose cable this is. The fiber network crews have long moved out of the neighborhood. Has someone forgot they left this cable just laying out in my yard? Any help is appreciated.

There is a construction site on West First Street right beside my apartment building (The Canadian Apartments, 327 W First St) that has been active for some time now. The contractors there are extremely noisy and often begin work in the early morning hours, as early as 4:30am or 5:00am. I am writing because the site is so noisy and disruptive of rest, and to ask why the contractors do not have to obey any kind of quiet hours. Is there not a city ordinance against excessive noise in the nighttime/early daylight hours? I would very much like to rest undisturbed and these contractors seem not to be going anywhere anytime soon. Please make it stop. Sincerely, Thade Correa

Hi, as a cyclist, I find it awkward have any ability to signal my attention to cross the street East bound on W Allen St across S Walnut St. As it turns out, the signal button is on the North side of Allen, and if I stay in correct lane, there is no crossing button to activate. Is this the intended design? If I move over to the north side of the street, that places me in any oncoming traffic from cars turning on to Allen southbound from Walnut. Also, can you let me know if the bridge on Allen between Walnut and the BLine trail will ever be opened? It is an eye sore, and I’ve noticed the area continues to deteriorate, with increased vandalism to vehicles at the Auto Haven Autoparts. This is sad.
