There has been a problem with people burning trash and yard waste in the near west side neighborhood nearly daily all summer and into this beginning of the fall season. The smoke often collects in some areas and lingers for hours causing a serious public health threat. Frequently the burning is conducted by a community of homeless people in the woods between W 8th and 9th Starts and the Monon trail just East of Adams Street, although therr may occasionally be other residents who are burning as well. Various neighbors have mad numerous calls to 911, but the problem persists. You may also reference the near west side neighhood association website to reference other complaints. While the fire department has come out to talk to the perpetrators numerous times, the City of Bloomington needs to find a permanent solution, since this is a serious public health problem that has been going on for a very long time, and sending the fire department does not resolve the problem.

Resturant staff wanted to clean the section we were in so with multiple tables still around they started moving chairs into all of the walkways to block them off. To leave the building we had to move multiple chairs that were blocking every exit to leave. I found it to be a major fire hazard and figured I'd report it. This was at 1pm March 1st.
This is still the same issue about the cable wire that has been touching my garage roof since the February tornado. I know that it is not Duke's wire. It has been identified as Comcast's wire by a repair man from QC (Comcast's contractor) on Saturday, April 25, 2026. However, Brandon Austin stated that he cannot remove it without the permission of Comcast. I called the 800 XFINITY number and requested that they remove it asap. Here is my work order #: ECM0021457478. I am very concerned because both transformers on either side of my house have been hit by the recent storms. Today, we are having another storm. Can you help prioritize this situation so that I do not have a fire enabled by the cable wire on my garage? Also, I am NOT a Comcast/Xfinity customer. This wire goes into my basement via a window and has never been in use since I purchased this house in 2020. uReport Case #210299 Attn: Jeff Yutmeyer I want to re-open this case because when I went to the rear of my yard this afternoon, I saw that Xfinity/Comcast, cut the cable from my house and let it drop into the thorn bushes. This presents more of a fire hazard because there is a layer of dry leaves on the ground; the cable is still attached to the electrical pole. No one from Xfinity/Comcast has contacted me either by email, text message, or phone. Jeff, we spoke on Wed, April 29th - you called me. The cable is still touching my garage roof. I feel uncomfortable with this situation due to the amount & severity of the Bloomington storms this Spring. Boxes of paper stored in ceiling between high tops and railing. Fire starts in ceiling sprinkler system cannot reach them. Items stored in various tiles throughout store.
Ceiling tiles above soda machine in kitchen are not only not a single tile piece but it is cut/altered and pieced together. Numerous ceiling leaks and unrelated but they do not have a valid retail food establishment permit. Should not be open for business.
