Someone decided to set off fireworks at 4:00am last night. They have continued to do so periodically today. (I know the town policy is 9am-11pm on non-holidays, so that last bit is fine - this is just to let you know that whoever is setting off fireworks in the area started doing so at about 4:00am.)
The first four street lamps east of Henderson/Indiana have a weird, purple haze that make it difficult to see at night. Glaring and annoying. Same issue with first two lamps east of Woodlawn. These are all on the south side of Atwater.
Noise from the Carlisle factory has hit an all-time point of frustration. This nuisance is loud and obnoxious with fans running 24/7. Last night there was a clear, high-pitched whine at ~1376 Hz. It was so loud and clear I could detect it with my musical tuner at the pitch F6. My neighbors are miserable and Carlisle seems oblivious to the issue.

The old street lights are in need of maintainance. One is taken down after it was hit by a car several years ago. They all need to be painted. Some look rusty. What is the plan for the beautiful old street lights? Between Atwater Ave and E 2nd St.
Street light on the NW corner of Woodlawn & Hunter is out. There are no other street lights on Woodlawn between Atwater & 2nd St even thought its sidewalks are heavily used by women leaving the campus in the dark to walk to the free parking lot east of Bryan Park. The dark sidewalk on the west side seems especially unsafe in the dark due to the large shrubbery that grows next to that sidewalk at several locations.
City workers replaced the old electricity pole with a new one on 2/25/22. Now, some tree branches interact with the wires especially on both of the taped connections due to the new pole is much taller than the old one. It's potentially dangerous. Request to get that affected branch removed.
The people who live at 712 E Hunter Ave constantly throw glass bottles from their porch into a dumpster that is not theirs. Most of the time they miss on purpose and shatter glass all through the alley and road making it terrible for me to drive on. I have yelled at them but they still continue to do it multiple times through the week almost every night now. Tonight after their party they threw being loud until 2:30 am they shattered multiple bottles and I watched them throw them straight into the road. This is unacceptable and dangerous to not only our cars but all of the people who walk through here. This has been happening for MONTHS. I’ve tried to let it slide because I didn’t know if it was them but now tonight I watched them throw them straight from their porch. If you drive by the alley by the dumpster at their side door you will see glass shattered everywhere.
Hello, I'm a second-year tenant of a house on S Woodlawn Ave. The walk home at night is very dangerous because there are no street lights once you get south of Atwater Ave. As a larger man, I luckily do not have to worry as much as about being abducted by any predators. However, I still worry about getting struck by a car because of the lack of visibility on the streets and sidewalks. We have guests that are women that fear coming to our house at night because of how dark the street gets and they could easily be abducted in the dark. My roommates and I often find ourselves having to walk guests to Atwater for them to feel safe. It is a public safety issue and I'm requesting that street lights are installed on Woodlawn Ave for a minimum of 5 blocks south of Atwater. Woodlawn is a highly trafficked area not only by cars, but pedestrians too. I'm a policy analysis major and would love to be involved in any research or implementation needed to solve this issue. Do private contractors have an obligation to clean up the street? This house on Southdowns (between Manor and Hawthorne) was paved and the street is a mess. It is not just stained, there is a lot of loose debris on the road from the paving process that could be cleaned up. Can the City contact the homeowner to find out who needs to get back out here to clean the street up and make their job site presentable? Thanks.
