Request a new Street Light

Alpha Phi

Case Date:

The sidewalks being lit up would be safer for pedestrians. The sidewalks are dark making it hard to see pedestrians about to step into the roadway. Just a little adjustment is all they need.

City Performance

Building Trades Park

Case Date:
7/22/2026

The daily situation in the park is so bad now that people are even complaining about it on reddit - https://reddit.com/r/bloomington/comments/1v34gaw/building_trades_park/ Every single day, all day, there is a group of men from outside the neighborhood that set up and drink, gamble, smoke weed, sell drugs, fight and scream. Every. Single. Day. The "security patrols" are pathetic, they never confront these people. Cops never patrol, no city employees are ever present in this park. There is a playground where people used to take their kids, but no sane parent would allow their children in the park when these men are present. The neighborhood is begging you to do something before the violence escalates.

Accessibility Problem

Cascades golf course

Case Date:
5/1/2026

My son is a player at BHSN and a paying member of the Cascades golf course (as required in order for him to play here during the golf season). Last week his team had a match at the golf course. Tee time was 315 and the boys were required to be off the course by 530 in order for league play. My parents came to watch him play. My parents are 69 and 74 and my dad is on dialysis with 4 blockages in his heart. He OBVIOUSLY cannot walk a golf course. My mother had contacted the course the day before to see if they could reserve a cart and was told ‘you don’t need to reserve one, it will be no problem just come in and get one and it will be $16’. On the day of the match, she showed up and went inside to get a cart and was told by the people working that day that there were no carts available because they had league that night. My mom then asked about what she was told the day before and the gentleman working the counter said ‘we don’t rent carts for high school matches. Sorry’. Sherie. Explained that my dad was a dialysis patient and unable to walk the course and he again said ‘sorry’ and dismissed her. The picture I have attached shows where all the carts were lined up at 515 when we came off the course. There were carts that were lined up in front of the clubhouse the whole time the boys were playing waiting for the league - which again DID NOT START until after the boys were off the course. There were carts available but they would not rent them but rather let them sit there for over 2 hours waiting for league players to arrive. We have been notified by the coach that this may be a “new” expectation from the course from here on out as they had changed the rules without discussing this with the high school. This is a CITY OWNED COURSE therefore there should be an expectation that the course is expected to follow the American Disability Act legislation. Players of any age can play golf whether they can walk the course or not. This is unacceptable and a complete disregard for ADA legislation which are federal laws - not local. We were not asking for anything for free. We understood we would be paying for a cart but the fact that multiple carts sat there for hours not being used but not available to someone with an obvious disability is not only morally unacceptable but appears it may be illegal as well. This is blatant discrimination against someone with a disability. In addition, my son is a paying member of this club yet I am Now being told that we can not even practice on this course as we have in previous years. This is unacceptable in multiple ways. I expect a response

Smoking Violation

City Hall/County Downtown

Case Date:
6/26/2026

Employees, visitors, and bus stop users all continue to violate no smoking ordinance per state and local policy. Anyone using the sidewalks and going through doors to buildings they have to use are subjected to smoke inhalation all throughout the week. Please address this. Especially bad by trash enclosure and county bench near north intersection heading towards trades on county side sidewalk.

Traffic Signals

College & 3rd

Case Date:
7/30/2026

When College was reopened, the traffic signal was not calibrated properly for east-west traffic and has caused MANY near collisions. Here's the issue: After southbound traffic gets a red, the westbound signal turns green 1.5 seconds before the eastbound signal. This is because the eastbound signal is timed with a Leading Pedestrian signal, but the westbound signal isn't. The westbound signal turns green as soon as the east-west crosswalk light turns white. This isn't a huge issue, since the south crosswalk doesn't get used right now due to construction. However, this 1.5 second lead has caused many near collisions between south-turning drivers and eastbound drivers. South-turning drivers get a green, and the eastbound drivers don't start moving (because their light is still red). So south-turning drivers begin their turn, believing the eastbound drivers are letting them go. Then eastbound drivers get their green and enter the intersection while southbound drivers are turning into it. I thought south-turning drivers were just running a red until the third near-collision. Then I walked to the intersection and timed the lights to figure out what was happening. POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS SOLUTIONS: 1) Program the westbound traffic light with the leading pedestrian interval 2) Remove the leading pedestrian interval for the eastbound light 3) Reinstate the protected left turn for westbound traffic (so they get the green arrow before eastbound traffic gets a green signal)

Parks & Playgrounds

Crestmont Park

Case Date:
7/25/2026

Lots of overgrown weeds blocking fairways of an otherwise great disc golf course, making it difficult to enjoy and find discs. Lots of overgrown branches hanging near baskets and into fairways making previously playable holes unplayable. Disappointing since the town only has 3 18 hole courses, that one has reached this condition

Bus Services (Bloomington Transit)

Highland & Winslow

Case Date:
2/16/2026

This morning at roughly 9:30 am, a public transit B Link bus, number 2469, was headed south on S Highland Avenue and did not stop at the stop sign before proceeding to turn right onto E Winslow Road. The bus whipped out in front of me as I was headed west on East Winslow Road. There was very dense fog this morning, making this failure to stop especially concerning. Please make sure that bus drivers are following traffic laws, particularly when there is adverse weather. Thank you!
