Water heavily pools and looks very muddy at the foot of our driveway and down Sheffield and seems to be very slow to go into drains when it rains heavily.
Grass is growing around the storm drain and water is not flowing into it.
Water drain under street is blocked by bent pipe; road floods with every heavy rain as a result
The small storm water drain at the bottom of the hill on the Southwest corner of Coolidge and Bryan often gets clogged and our home at 2317 S. Bryan St. ends up collecting the water and trying to manage it in our driveway, which ends up in flooding in our driveway, our garage, on our back deck, and in the basement.
Reported last spring after big storm that there was a large tree that had fallen and was stuck on the dam. Tree is still there raise the dam height about a foot. Which then has water coming on to weimer rd with heavy rain
The storm drain in front of my house clogs repeatedly. This is the storm drain on the south side of the street. Please replace the old storm drain grill with a more modern one like the one across the street. Today the water was backed up so high that it took me 5 minutes of work just to find the grill so that I could clear it.
in the back end of our property we have a storm Storm pipe set up between me and my neighbor. This past weekend we had a storm where the pipe was pushing out alot of water causing it to cave in the ground and crowding the sides of the channel. It has been causing the sides to collapse and making the channel wider taking from the land. I placed some rocks to keep the storm water from damaging the channel last year. yet We will need to add some extra rocks to hold it in place since it can't withstand the pressure as shown in the attached image. Please give me a call as soon as you can to review. Thank you, 2718 south Pinehurst drive bloomington indiana 47403
There is a rainwater drainage ditch and large drain between our yard and our neighbors. During the last few heavy rainstorms, the drain at the end of the ditch stopped draining water, resulting in flooding our yard as well as our neighbors to the south and east. The flooding was at least 3-4 feet deep and spilled into the swale at the side of our house, coming close to our basement windows. We do not know if the drain was backed up, clogged with debris or what happened. However, upon checking the drain today with a landscaper, the drain is filled with water almost to the top....and we have not had recent heavy rain in the last few days. Could someone come to check the drain to see if it needs to be opened / cleaned out or if there is some sort of shut-off valve inside that is not operating and allowing water to drain? I am concerned if we get another heavy downpour that water already standing in this drain will result in major flooding again. We have called the street department about this issue twice, and I understand there is some history with drainage problems in this area of Hyde Park.
The heavy rainfall today has resulted again in flash flooding our backyard. The beehive drain in the City's drainage easement within the Brigs Bend cul de sac in Hyde Park is deteriorating around and above the drain structure, with large sink holes with active water flowing in the ground. There is another sink hole developing to the east of the drain with active water flowing below ground. We believe the storm pipe(s) may be compromised in some way that causes flash flooding to occur, over-filling the north and east swales that subsequently fills our back and side yard with flood water within seconds. We have videos of the drain after the storm today showing water draining through these holes in the ground. We believe this is a dangerous situation, particularly with the transformer at the top of the drain open to the large sink hole. This is at 2737 E Brigs Bend and 2712 Olcott.
