Could we possibly get a water spigot, hose, and some plastic kiddie pools inside the fenced areas of the dog park? I belong to Karst Dog Park and those are so so valuable in these hot months.
Switchyard Dog Park, Large Dog enclosure Please erect a barrier promptly, around the collection of mud + water about 25 feet from the entrance. During my 1st visit with my dog on Saturday, 9-11, he noticed the area by following another dog into the mud. Note there is no hose + water source to rinse dogs, unlike Ferguson Dog Pk, which has this resource during non-winter months. In addition to causing damage to the interior of my car, the muddy substrate was not easily cleaned. A rash has developed in several areas of my dog's skin. Water alone did not remedy the muck; standard dog shampoo fared a bit better. I diluted Dawn dish detergent, which worked best but likely added to the discomfort of the rash. We have a veterinary appt on Monday to address. Again, please erect a barrier around this area and also plan for long-term, engineering solution. Thank you. The skate park drain is clogged so water is just sitting there when it hasn't rained in a while.
The tree inside the large dog park has a large diameter dip around the base of it. This dip is constantly filled with very rank smelling water and I along with all other dog owners have discussed how unhappy we are that we must bathe our dogs anytime we take them to get exercise. My dog needs consistent exercise and the best way to do this is at the dog park, but constant bathing can cause skin to dry out. At one point, the city had placed a temporary barrier around it so I believed there was hope for a solution, but since then the barrier has been taken down.
This is supposed to be a city park built for parents to take their children to be kids and have fun. I took my niece to the park the other day and found pills in one of the tunnels, needles in the bathroom and on the play area, powder on the ground in the water area (which the drugged up homeless said their buddy spilt his meth there). Then I found out that they are allowed to camp there. There are plenty of places for them to sleep and leave their remnants that isn’t in the path of innocent children. You’ve been mayor since 2016 and you know the homeless has become a bigger problem every year. We can’t go to a park in Bloomington without someone drugged up and laying across the tables, walking around cussing and threatening anyone walking by. Homeless at every stoplight claiming to be veterans. The parks are the worse and I will make sure that everyone hears what is going on at the parks and our Mayor is allowing this to go on. My comments involve the parks, restroom, picnic areas, playgrounds and water areas.
The drinking fountain by the playground in Southeast park seems not to drain properly - all the water pours out underneath the bowl.
The button for the dog water fountain is sticky. I've walked past it a couple times and water is trickling out of the lower bowl. If I push the button a couple times it gets unstuck and the water stops.
There is an accumulation of sticks, trash, and general debris that has dammed the stream running alongside the B-Link Trail, approx. 600 feet from S Walnut Street. As of late, whenever we experience heavy rains, the water floods onto the trail itself, as photographed.
The sidewalk at the north edge of the Goat Farm is covered with mud and water. I reported this on 3/30, #172124, and it was cleaned up. The problem appears to be a lack of drainage causing the standing water and residual mud.
I've reported this area twice, #172124 and #172370, but today it's impassable again due to standing water. I appreciate the work you've done to clean it up. I use this sidewalk frequently and I would like to know what permanent solution will be installed to stop this problem from recurring. It seems like the ground on the downhill side needs to be lowered next to the sidewalk to allow the water to run off.
