https://bloomington.in.gov/crm/tickets/view?ticket_id=167365 I just opened a new ticket for the most recent flood, but I am appalled by the response "I want to try something" neglectful attitude that has led to BLACK WATER flooding during a quarantine. We are unable to deal with this extent of damage without compromising ourselves and the community.
All the storm water runoff from the White Oak Cemetery basin, during very hard rains, cannot be handled by the 4-storm drains near the intersection of 7th and Oak Streets. The excess is diverted through the gravel parking of our neighbor at 1025 W 7th, washing the gravel onto the street. The storm water then turns and washes through the alley between 6th & 7th Streets. It then goes through our carport and yard washing our mulch away in places. Oak street was paved in the past and is higher than the storm drain at 7th and Oak so any excess water has do go through the gravel parking instead of down the street. I would be happy to meet someone to look at this problem. Thanks.

I am requesting a ditch or pipe be installed in the wooded easement south of my property that will move the water out to the storm drain that was recently installed last year on Waldron Street in front my house. On April 13th of this year, we received a lot of rain in just a couple hours and I noticed most of the water was coming from the wooded easement South of my house and running down into my yard, pooling up and overflowing down near my basement (where i've had flooding from the street runoff in years past). Water/sewage is coming up into our house from the street. This happened a month or two or three ago, right after the city did some work on the main in the street (2 large spots visible in picture). A plumber confirmed both times that there is no backup between the house and the street, and he got the drain snake/declogger to go into the hole (white on the left side of the driveway/this image near the bottom of the driveway) 21 feet (I have a video, separately showing the measurements) or more both times. This time he wasn't able to get the hole unclogged in the street, so it is an urgent situation for us. We are pretty sure the guys who dug in the street to remain a main caused the issue because we never had a problem before then, and the first backup into the house was a couple of weeks after that this summer. We would like the city to come scope it and fix it ASAP please. The plumber suspects that the jackhammering and digging that the big trucks did in the street caused a partial or full collapse, given where the backup seems to be from what he can tell. Please let us know when you might be able to look at it. We have little kids and really need to be able to use water in the house. Thank you!

When it rains, water sheds to the west off the B-Line and drops sediment on the sidewalk along Kirkwood. It seems preferable that the water would shed toward Morton Street where the storm water drains can do their job. The sediment deposit from the rain last week is still covering the sidewalk on the north side of Kirkwood.
I live at 1009 S. Lincoln St., and running in a perpendicular line to the street from our water access, at the house edge of the sidewalk, there's a big hole. It seems to go below the sidewalk a little. I'm not sure if I should just fill it in, or if it is indicative of a larger problem that should be addressed. I'd love a little guidance from the experts! There is a drainage issue outside our neighbor’s home that is running in front of our home as well. The standing water has been there for about a year, is disgusting and has an odor that smells like fish. I am concerned about our children getting sick from getting this contaminated water on their hands and body. This is located on the cul-de-sac of S Bay Hill Court in Fieldstone Subdivision - specifically in front of 431 S Bay Hill Court. I am having an issue with my front ditch flooding every time it rains. This picture was taken today (June 2nd, 2021) during the light rain we experienced throughout the day. When we receive heavy down pours or rain for multiple days the runoff storm water puts my mailbox post underwater. Which, over time, rots the post (I have recently had it replaced). When the front yard does flood the water travels across the road in a 30-40 foot wide swath, several inches deep. When dry, the culverts (under my driveway and the one going under the road) can be observed as 95-100% silted in and obstructed. I have noticed over the past couple of years where the city has had the utilities marked and the culvert marked going under the road. Other culverts in the Park RIdge neighborhood have been replaced or repaired except for the one in front of my residence. I would appreciate an update on when this issue will be addressed.
