Due to the rain yesterday, my basement has flooded and many others in Winslow Farms have as well. There is not enough drainage in place to handle the water that comes to my immediate area with a heavy rain. I have a storm drain in the backyard between my home and the neighbors. This drain is not sufficient to deal with the water for this whole area. Many times during the year in heavy rains, this drain gets overwhelmed and we get a large pool in backyard. Unfortunately, this time, the water rose to a point where it entered into my basement and I am now dealing with many thousands in damage. It seems that someone from the city needs to come analyze the drainage situation in this area of Winslow farms and some additional drainage systems or drains need to be added. Due to the storm on Friday night we have a lot of run off rock and old concrete from the ditches above our house on Ruby and Covenanter. Since we are the last house where the ditches turn, we get all of the debris. Can someone from the city please come and clean up our ditch (with the truck that sucks up rocks, etc.)along Ruby and Covenanter? Our front lawn grass is full of rock and mud from the flow of water on Friday night. We don't want the city to dig up our grass...we would just like them to suck up the sand, rock and black top debris in our ditches and culverts. Thank you. Sincerely, Ingrid 1104 S. Covenanter Drive

in the back end of our property we have a storm Storm pipe set up between me and my neighbor. This past weekend we had a storm where the pipe was pushing out alot of water causing it to cave in the ground and crowding the sides of the channel. It has been causing the sides to collapse and making the channel wider taking from the land. I placed some rocks to keep the storm water from damaging the channel last year. yet We will need to add some extra rocks to hold it in place since it can't withstand the pressure as shown in the attached image. Hi, We know that this property has a new owner and was purchased earlier this year. Due to the storms on Friday night of last week...there is a lot of debris blocking the ditch and culvert. We are expecting rain again tomorrow and this weekend. Can the city contact the new owners to come and clean up their culvert and ditch along High street before the impending rains this weekend? This affects the whole neighborhood and will cause backups of water. Thank you.

The storm drains have been very clogged on the 500 block of south Woodlawn well before the cicadas and excessive rainfall. These need to be cleared to prevent cars from hydroplaning in standing water and “sidewalk tsunamis” that hit pedestrians when a car passes. Thank you.

In 2019 we received a residential storm water grant to have a ditch at the back of our yard redone. It was done with large riprock. During the last big rainstorm large rocks were carried into the storm drain which could cause a clogging problem at the next big rainstorm. They are located at the drain in our neighbors yard at 1100 S. Nancy Street, as well as in the drain in the street. We need the rocks to replace them and repair the ditch as it drains 17 properties. Do not take the rocks away after removing them from the storm drains.

Hello. Our public culvert just south of Hillside on High has a high level of debris since the storm. Neighbors have been cleaning but we need city help. We are aware of previous flooding that occurred reported by previous owners due to debris build up. This previous water damage is recorded with the city. Any help is appreciated and needed. We are fearful of another heavy rain. Thank you so much.

The low area of this block (1100 South between Washington and Lincoln) is in the old alley and is first flooded by the overflowing ditch along Davis Street and then water continues to flow up from damage pipe clean outs even when water in the ditch has lowered. The water peaked at about 1 foot higher than shown in the attached picture. There is a storm sewer manhole behind this garage, but no inlets are nearby. Is sanitary sewer infiltration to blame for this? Would fixing the clean outs lead to backups inside homes?

The heavy rainfall today has resulted again in flash flooding our backyard. The beehive drain in the City's drainage easement within the Brigs Bend cul de sac in Hyde Park is deteriorating around and above the drain structure, with large sink holes with active water flowing in the ground. There is another sink hole developing to the east of the drain with active water flowing below ground. We believe the storm pipe(s) may be compromised in some way that causes flash flooding to occur, over-filling the north and east swales that subsequently fills our back and side yard with flood water within seconds. We have videos of the drain after the storm today showing water draining through these holes in the ground. We believe this is a dangerous situation, particularly with the transformer at the top of the drain open to the large sink hole. This is at 2737 E Brigs Bend and 2712 Olcott.
