Is there a timeline estimated for when traffic calming and enhancements will be made for the bike path Morningside Greenway? I believe it was a priority area on a map the other year. Looking forward to it! (and maybe slowing cars down a bit)
The intersection of Pete Ellis Dr./Discovery Parkway and 10th Street is used by residents of numerous apartment complexes, bus riders, and community members accessing the post office and the greenway that goes along 10th St. The intersection is necessary for access to Indiana University from Woodbridge and Fountain Park Apartments, which hosts many graduate students. However, there is no crosswalk, pedestrian lights, or sidewalk platforms to allow for safe crossing along this very busy intersection. Additionally, the traffic lights are not able to be seen from the four corners of the intersection, forcing pedestrians to make an educated guess on when to cross. In short, the intersection is dangerous and near impossible to cross. Would it be at all possible in the future to include a) a crosswalk b) a pedestrian crosswalk light c) sidewalk cutout/curb ramps on the two corners in which there is not one currently? Dangerous biking behaviors on walking/biking trail between Olcott Park and Sherwood Oaks Park. Can signs be placed to instruct cyclists to 1. slow down for pedestrians 2. signal by bell or voice if passing from behind 3. be prepared to stop should it be necessary. A woman and her daughter came down the path at a high speed, did not announce their presence, and almost ran over our 5 year old granddaughter. Education concerning bicycling etiquette might help. Walk signal at S Clairizz and 3rd St. (westside of intersection) traveling across 3rd, is not working or takes a long 2 cycles to work. let’s encourage walking. tx
Again, I ask for speed bumps. Traffic count doesn't matter. Renters, a shortcut mentality, and the fact that we DO NOT HAVE SIDEWALKS are the problem. I work from home now and take frequent walks, as do my neighbors. PLEASE help us! Thank you.
Address in report is the nearest address to the intersection - the resident complained that there is no formal crosswalk at the Moores Pike and Smith Road intersection.
Hello- I was actually hit by a car on washington between 3rd and Smiths St's tonight, 3/7/24 a bit after 6 pm. A Porsche SUV driven by a college-aged female drove up next to me, then attempted to turn west onto Smith directly in front of me causing me to run into the passenger side door with my elbow and bike. I had a rear blinking light on, so this person had to have seen me as she approached. I'm fine; I yelled some very not-nice things and continued on my way. I know there's nothing to be done here, but in the interest of logging yet another incident in this area, I wanted to report. thanks again. Sorry, no picture.
Can we please get a barrier like cones to partition the bike lane on third? This would help bikers feel safer and actually use the lanes and cars from blocking other cars and buses and creating problems by CONSTANTLY parking in a no parking area by slowing down and pulling over. I get annoyed as a driver but would be even more mad if trying to bike or driving a bus.
I often walk along 13th street between Indiana ave. and Fess ave. Could the sidewalks along this stretch of road be improved? On the south side, there's no sidewalk, and on the north side, the sidewalk is crumbling and difficult to use at night.
Cars turning right onto the bypass from Dunn Street rarely if ever look to the right to see if a pedestrian is crossing. Please make this intersection "No Turn On Red" and also add a pedestrian delay so the intersection can be safely crossed.
