B-Line Trail Detour Begins Oct. 4 for Hopewell, First Street Projects

B-Line Trail detour between First and Second Streets beginning Oct. 4, 2024.
The B-Line Trail detour along Morton Street between First and Second Streets begins Oct. 4. Access to Seminary Square Kroger is open during the detour.

Bloomington, Ind.—A portion of the B-Line Trail between First and Second Streets will be temporarily closed beginning Oct. 4 as part of the Hopewell East and First Street reconstruction projects.

Trail users will be routed onto Morton Street in the closure area while contractors reconstruct the First Street/B-Line Trail intersection, and complete improvements to the Hopewell East project. Scheduled improvements include the creation of sidewalk connections between the B-Line Trail and Hopewell Commons, and resurfacing portions of the B-Line Trail.

B-Line Trail access to the Seminary Square Kroger from both the south and north will remain open during the detour.

The detour is expected to remain in place for several weeks.

For more information about the B-Line Trail detour, contact Parks and Recreation via email or call 812-349-3700, or leave a comment or report a problem about the B-Line Trail detour online anytime.

The City of Bloomington will host a public event Oct. 23 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the John Waldron Arts Center, 122 S. Walnut St., to provide an update on the planned Hopewell neighborhood development. A virtual option will be available for those not able to attend in person.

City representatives will share updates on the neighborhood's design, including parks, public art, and engineering, as well as the overall progress of this City-led initiative.
