Commission on Hispanic and Latino Affairs 2018 Monthly Meeting Schedule

Bloomington, Ind. - The City of Bloomington Commission on Hispanic and Latino Affairs will now meet the last Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall Hooker Conference Room (#245). This is a change from the previous meeting schedule. All regular Commission meetings are open to the public, and information about the Commission can be found at bloomington.in.gov/boards/hispanic-latino-affairs. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall, 401 N. Morton St., Hooker Conference Room #245.  

The Commission on Hispanic and Latino Affairs works to identify and research the issues which impact the Hispanic and Latino populations in Bloomington, especially in the areas of health, education, public safety and cultural competency.

The Commission's responsibilities include:

  • Developing action committees to address the challenges of members of the Hispanic and Latino populations in the areas of education, health, employment and public safety

  • Serving as a catalyst to promote positive public and private remedies to the multifaceted issues confronting Hispanics and Latinos in our community and the resulting effects on the entire community

  • Networking with like-minded groups and local organizations to share ideas and information and to collaborate on projects where appropriate

  • Celebrating Hispanic and Latino history and contributions to the Bloomington community and in the United States
