The City of Bloomington to Commemorates Hispanic Heritage Month with 2024 La FIesta del Otoño

The City of Bloomington will host La Fiesta del Otoño on Saturday, Sept. 21 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Switchyard Park Pavilion, located at 1601 S Rogers St. The event is free, family-friendly, and open to all, providing an opportunity for the community to come together for National Hispanic Heritage Month.

“Our city is stronger when more people are involved in policy development and more perspectives are present and heard at the decision-making table. That starts with ensuring Bloomington is a welcoming community where every resident and visitor feels safe and valued,” said Shatoyia Moss, director of Community and Family Resources.

The theme for this year’s Fiesta is “Your Contributions Matter: Shaping the Future Together” or “Tus Contribuciones Importan: Formando el Futuro Juntos.” La Fiesta del Otoño offers educational and informative booths, cultural activities from a variety of Spanish-speaking countries, and opportunities to interact with our community partners.

La Fiesta del Otoño is supported by the City of Bloomington’s Commission on Hispanic and Latino Affairs and the Community and Family Resources Department Latino Programs. During the event, attendees have the chance to experience traditional ethnic performances such as Flamenco dancer Sofía Crespo and Mariachi Internacional de Bloomington, listen to live regional music from NOMáS and the Vick Luna Quartet, and purchase Latine food from our food trucks. The afternoon also features arts and crafts for children and a dance competition with several prizes.
