April and October: Saturday and Sunday only, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
May-August: Daily, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
September: Daily, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
November-March: Closed
Last boat rental one hour prior to closing.


Boating on Griffy Lake

Griffy Lake accepts cash, checks, and MasterCard, Visa and Discover for boat rentals, and for the purchase of 10-Rental passes and private boat launch fees.

Want to boat a lot? Purchase a 10, one-hour boat rental pass for $70. Boat rental passes are available at the boathouse during normal operating hours.

Canoe/Kayak/Rowboat/Stand-up Paddleboard Rental
Two-hour limit on holidays and weekends.

To make boat rental reservations for large groups visiting Griffy Lake Monday-Friday, call Elizabeth Tompkins at (812) 349-3759. Boats cannot be reserved for weekends or holidays. Last boat rental one hour prior to closing.

Privately Owned Boat Launch Fee
Boat motors are limited to electric trolling motors only.
$70/season, $7/day

Eco Outpost at Griffy Lake

Looking for a fun, new way to interact with the great outdoors? Visit the Eco Outpost, a hands-on place to explore nature. Check out our display of natural objects like fossils, pine cones, and seashells, and learn how you can earn Eco Bucks that can be traded for any of the objects in the Outpost's collection. Borrow an Explorer's Pack and take a fun-filled trek through the woods or your own backyard. The Eco Outpost is open during boathouse hours.
