Through their contributions, nominees have been one or more of the following: (1) influential role model, (2) advocate for services and the rights for Latinos, and (3) have shown continuous direct and effective involvement in the Latino community. This award seeks to recognize individuals in the following key areas:

  • Leadership- Through exemplary leadership, has contributed towards a specific goal or objective that has benefited the Latino community and/or has been a role model in their profession/work.
  • Initiative- Continually responds to new and changing needs of the community and/or has developed new and innovative programs within his/her professional field.
  • Advocacy- Campaigns for issues that promote the inclusion and well-being of the Latino community and/or has developed innovative programs within his/her field
  • Dedication- Works on issues and seeks solutions to problems based on the needs of the professional and/or Latino community, not based on his/her own self-interests.
