Mr. Madsen called to express his concern about the efficiency of tax money on the sidewalk sweeper the City just purchased. He believes the City merchants should sweep their own sidewalks, and in the winter should shovel their own walks to better promote people to use the dowtown area. Citizen is manager of Jiffy Treet. Says sidewalk in front of business is very bad and several older people have almost tripped. Did not realize property owner is responsible....he rents from Claire Young, 812-597-5711. JA told him we'd have Street check it out (Tom Goldman).

Regarding construction on South Walnut Street- at the intersection with second street, motorists are trying to go north from both lanes south of second into the single lane north of second street. These lanes need to be clearly marked during construction as typically the far left lane is for left turns only. Please make it easier for people to know where to go. Thanks.
Trash, concrete, etc., left on sidewalks from remodeling and curb cut. Vehicles are parked on sidewalks.
WITH THE NEW SIDEWALK GOING IN ON 500 BLOCK OF INDIANA, MR. DEKALB IS CONCERNED ABOUT HIS RETAINING WALL.
Citizen says construction crew was jackhammering street at 8am at Lincoln & University, a few feet away from her (and other) car. Dust and chunks of asphalt are all over her car. She thinks that no parking signs should have been posted if they were going to work this close to cars. Street Dept. thinks this was an Indiana Gas crew.
Mr. Stidd called and said that the road at 5717 S. Rogers was supposed to have been cleaned up by CBU contractor, but it is extremely dusty and dirty.
