The lights on 4th St and college/walnut are very out of sync. Once I can go west through walnut towards college, the light is already changing. I feel like this whole area had just recently become like this. 3rd Street is really bad to, going east.
I recommend removing the new zebra crossing at the lights on the corner of 3rd and Jordan. It is the only zebra crossong at this intersection but all pedestrian crossing at this intersection is controlled by crossing signals. I have seen a number of pedestrians cross against the crossing signal at this zebra crossing suggesting there may be some confusion regarding when pedestrians can cross.
Hi, I was wondering if it might be possible to consider making a crosswalk at this location. It is located right at a bus stop, and for pedestrians walking along the bus stop side of the road (east side), it would be great to be able to cross the street safely here over to Renwick (specifically, for me, the Village Center shops). The traffic lights on 3rd street between college and grant seem to be off where they are not properly coordinating together. Every morning between 6:30-7:00 I have had difficulty because I will be at a red light with all lights ahead green. Then I get to the next red light and all lights ahead are green. So basically I have to stop and wait at each red light to get down 3rd street. This was not a problem before, mostly just in the past 1-2 weeks.
Hi, There's a couple of large road cuts at the intersection of Lincoln and 6th St. If the city is not planning on filling these any time soon could we at least get the sharp edges softened? Sometimes I've seen this done and it makes road cuts much easier to drive over without damaging your tires. Thanks, Vickie Nelson Bloomington
Crosswalk needs a vertical sign to caution drivers to slow down and respect crosswalk. This is at Hunter and High St.
The barricades set up on Rockport Road at the intersection of Roger's Street and Rockport Road are creating a dangerous situation. Specifically, the barricade in the lane for Rockport approaching Rogers requires traffic to drive in to oncoming traffic. This particular barricade doesn't seem to serve any purpose, as it is only visible to traffic traveling on Rockport towards Rogers street, the opposite direction of the Tapp/Rockport intersection.
Dear Government, I have been living here for about 13 years, and in this time it has become clear to me that there is a problem at the intersection between Rusgan Drive and Ramble Road West. You see this intersection has been my bus stop for years, and whether it's the dark of morning when I leave or daylight when I get back people speed right by as if there were no speed limit. This is only made worse by the fact that the intersection is half blind because it lies at the bottom of a small hill. So for the well being of myself and the children of the neighborhood I am requesting that this intersection be changed to a three way stop. I believe this would force the people of the neighborhood to drive at a more reasonable speed and therefore make my street much safer. I believe my neighbor across the street, the father of a small child, previously wrote the city requesting the same thing. I myself am just a teenager. So you know that once the problem has reached the point where a teenager takes time where they could have been doing nothing to write the city about traffic regulation, it's probably not just nothing. And considering others have written about this in the past, I frankly find it foolish to wait until someone actually gets hurt to take action. Thank you for your time and consideration, P.S. There is no paved sidewalk; it's just a bunch of horribly laid slabs of stone. How was this even allowed, especially in downtown?! This is not wheelchair accessible, and is dangerous to all others. Please put in a paved sidewalk here so wheelchaired people don't have to turn around and cross the street just to get by.
The traffic light at this intersection (S. Bryan Ave/High St & E. 3rd) has a very short timing on the Bryan Ave/High st. side, especially during rush hour. Traffic is nearly always backed up after 5pm due to the lights only being green for ~5 seconds, while the 3rd street lights are green for far longer. This is a problem for those of us coming off campus for the day at 5 as both roads get lines of traffic. If it would be possible to extend the length of the green light for these two 'side' roads for longer so traffic had more of a chance to clear, it would help ease congestion on these roads.
