Traffic Signals

360 E S Dr

Case Date:
8/6/2026

To Whom It May Concern, I would like to report a concern regarding the traffic signal at the intersection of South Walnut Street and East South Drive. A couple of months ago, the traffic signal timing was changed. Since then, the light appears to stop northbound and southbound traffic on South Walnut Street much more frequently than it allows traffic to exit South High School via East South Drive. As a result, traffic on South Walnut Street backs up significantly, particularly during the morning rush hour. Prior to the timing change, traffic seemed to flow much more efficiently. If possible, I would appreciate it if the signal timing could be reviewed and adjusted to more closely match its previous operation. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, David Taylor

Street Lights

2605 E Creeks Edge DR

Case Date:
8/5/2026

There are no street lights in the parking lot at the IU Health Orthopedics office at the address listed. When leaving the clinic at night, especially in the winter it is very dark and feels unsafe, especially if you are one of the later appointments and a lot of the staff has left. Is it possible to get lights installed in the parking lot? It seems like a serious safety concern for a medical office to not have lights in the parking lot. Thanks!

Request a new Street Light

Case Date:
8/5/2026

Is there a place to request NO new street lights? Or to oppose requests for new and "improved" lighting? There is plenty of evidence that night lighting is harmful, to humans and to animals. There is also evidence that lighting does not reduce crimes. I don't live in a "bright" area of the city, and yet light is all around me at night, including creeping into my house and bedroom even though I have room darkening drapes. I want nighttime and stars back. I can't be the only one, and yet it seems that procedures are set up to favor increased lighting and profits for Duke.
