Under bridge near grimes and Morton is an illegal homeless camp that has an increasing amount of trash surrounding the area. This has been reported over several months by multiple people but nothing has been done. Why? There are a number of laws/ordnance’s being broken! Why do we have different standards for different people in this community?
The homeless have set up an encampment, which I am sure the city is aware of. They are leaving trash, including needles, as well as disrupting people trying to enter into the Switchyard Park system. It seems incredible to me that after all the money pumped into this project that this is what the city wants people to encounter as they try to enter the park. Please have this situation resolved.
Hello! Please relocate the people living in the many growing homeless camps along the B-line next to Switchyard Park. The day before yesterday, my mother was riding her bike early in the morning through Switchyard, and a crazy homeless guy was chasing people on a bike and swinging a baseball bat around. A mid-30s white homeless guy with wavy hair comes around our house about once a week (we live on 2509 S Camden) and gives my 3-year-old daughter and my pregnany wife dirty looks and yells obscenities. We are renting and the owner will not pay for fancy fences or security cameras. We cannot afford to pay for those either, as I am a graduate student. Many of my neighbors are also getting increasingly annoyed with homeless people trespassing and breaking into their cars. Me and my family feel unsafe on our own front porch. Neighbor (pavillion properties) leaves the gravel pit unattended and the trash is overflowing, there is waste and needles all over the lot. There is now a mattress where homeless are sleeping. It is creating risk for clients and staff. He should be penalized for not maintaining the property.
Under bridge at Morton and grimes there is an illegal homeless camp set up. Also there are lots of trash and litter in the area created by these people. Do not let your political affiliations prevent you from carrying out your responsibility as a city official. These people are breaking the law and need held accountable.
The homeless camp that lives on the pickle ball courts are smoking and their stuff is over a large portion of the out of bounds section, along with their bikes. The pickle ball courts are for playing pickle ball, and I'm getting tired of having to navigate their stuff.
My wife and I took our kids to explore Switchyard Park one morning last month (3/27). We were excited to see the new development. And it really is wonderful, but...we found homeless people drinking in the play areas, one passed out on a bench, and vomit on the B-line trail (around the area of the Warehouse). It didn't feel like a safe place for kids. At the corner of B-line/Grimes, there's a small police station, and the area in front of it was strewn with trash and bottles, and with a person passed out on top of the picnic table. I guess this police building might not have any police inside. This is a serious problem. I would not let my kids go there by themselves. Is this issue on your agenda? Thanks for all you do.
I have homeless walking in our parking lot upswing on baby trees . Right in front of the apartment at 10:00 am . I have had a old lady to be smoking crack pipe by my front door ! And the homeless are going upstairs and checking doors to be unlocked! You can hear everything in are apartment no fire walls ! You can talk or walk and everyone in the apartment complex can hear it . Most of the people who are renting want to leave due to not being safe ! Help
Need a fence also to keep homeless away from our door also ! At the Switchyard apartment complex on Rogers st . If I put my plant outside for sunshine some one steals it ! Not safe at the Switchyard apartment. My neighbors are in worsening health do to what the city has built and not protecting the handicap tenants! I have call the cops . Last time they don’t show up just called back . And they can not arrest anyone trespassing without a sign ! It will be the city’s fault if anyone dies due to this happening on a day to day basses . Help all of us out of this mess . I’m willing to let the landlord to stay in my apartment for a week if he can stand it !!! And survived. It’s no place for the handicap! Make the apartments safe !
Living at the Switchyard apartment. This was for the handicap. That is how the grant was started . To help house the handicap. We have all tenants being disabled. Due to move I g the homeless people closer to Switchyard apartment complex. We now have major problems extremely now ! I have had a man living in our stairwell for the last 2 weeks. Shooting up with a needle and is holding a knife! My husband john and I both have been seeing this and my neighbor Anna / Scott also her caregiver jaxx had a close encounter On the stair well . Are apartment complex needs the stairwell in closed and a key pad for access . Every time it rains fillls up with homeless 1:00 2:00 in the morning! Loud drunk and smoking everything!
