in the back end of our property we have a storm Storm pipe set up between me and my neighbor. This past weekend we had a storm where the pipe was pushing out alot of water causing it to cave in the ground and crowding the sides of the channel. It has been causing the sides to collapse and making the channel wider taking from the land. I placed some rocks to keep the storm water from damaging the channel last year. yet We will need to add some extra rocks to hold it in place since it can't withstand the pressure as shown in the attached image. We have cleaned the tops of the grates in front of our building but can not clean the culvert in the ditch, which is clogged with debris. We also have one grate that has erosion barrier under the grate which won't allow water to pass through as it is packed with mud. We were flooded in 2008. We were within a foot of it entering our building early last Saturday morning. Please send someone to address this issue before Friday. We can not survive another flood.

Hi, We know that this property has a new owner and was purchased earlier this year. Due to the storms on Friday night of last week...there is a lot of debris blocking the ditch and culvert. We are expecting rain again tomorrow and this weekend. Can the city contact the new owners to come and clean up their culvert and ditch along High street before the impending rains this weekend? This affects the whole neighborhood and will cause backups of water. Thank you.

This is in regard to claim 176333. I received an email that the claim was closed because the ditch has been cleaned. It has NOT been cleaned as of 10:30 today 7-25. The storm drains have been very clogged on the 500 block of south Woodlawn well before the cicadas and excessive rainfall. These need to be cleared to prevent cars from hydroplaning in standing water and “sidewalk tsunamis” that hit pedestrians when a car passes. Thank you.

In 2019 we received a residential storm water grant to have a ditch at the back of our yard redone. It was done with large riprock. During the last big rainstorm large rocks were carried into the storm drain which could cause a clogging problem at the next big rainstorm. They are located at the drain in our neighbors yard at 1100 S. Nancy Street, as well as in the drain in the street. We need the rocks to replace them and repair the ditch as it drains 17 properties. Do not take the rocks away after removing them from the storm drains.

Hello. Our public culvert just south of Hillside on High has a high level of debris since the storm. Neighbors have been cleaning but we need city help. We are aware of previous flooding that occurred reported by previous owners due to debris build up. This previous water damage is recorded with the city. Any help is appreciated and needed. We are fearful of another heavy rain. Thank you so much.

The low area of this block (1100 South between Washington and Lincoln) is in the old alley and is first flooded by the overflowing ditch along Davis Street and then water continues to flow up from damage pipe clean outs even when water in the ditch has lowered. The water peaked at about 1 foot higher than shown in the attached picture. There is a storm sewer manhole behind this garage, but no inlets are nearby. Is sanitary sewer infiltration to blame for this? Would fixing the clean outs lead to backups inside homes?
