The storm drains have been very clogged on the 500 block of south Woodlawn well before the cicadas and excessive rainfall. These need to be cleared to prevent cars from hydroplaning in standing water and “sidewalk tsunamis” that hit pedestrians when a car passes. Thank you.
There is an excessive amount of water flowing down South Fess down the street from my house. It has been flowing for at least 15 min now and appears to look like sewer water. It has not rained so it does not appear to be a result of that.
The alley next to my house has a deep ditch from water runoff. Hoping you can come and level it off, so my car doesn't get damaged. It's at the entrance to the alley, 516 S. Highland Ave. Thank you!

Musty tap water, as bad as its ever been. I have a .5 micron carbon filter on my kitchen sink and the awful smell taste still gets through. Been this way for several days now. Something is up.
The city has come out and measured several times for a culvert to be installed in front of my driveway. The problem is that the street is higher than my driveway and this house is at the bottom of a hill. When it rains all the debris from the street and houses above me come into my driveway. There is so much water that my basement can flood and the water level can easily reach several feet deep. I have at the moment blocks of stones in front of my driveway so that the debris and water keeps going down Mitchel street instead of blocking the small drainage grates that are in driveway. Dear City of Bloomington Representative, Last night’s torrential rain brought a lot of water down our driveway from the street, some of which eventually ended up in our finished basement. We've lived at this address since 2009, and this has been a problem we've lived with since then. We’ve spent almost $15,000 on waterproofing our basement, installing storm drains at the bottom of our driveway, halfway down our driveway, and installing a berm on top of the driveway. Still, water that runs down the Anita Street takes a hard right into our driveway and overwhelms our systems. Anita Street slopes south to north, after it has turned from the east to west slope of East 2nd street. We believe a majority of the water coming down Anita Street actually ends up in our driveway. A lot of the water from the street also collects in the yard of our neighbor, Allyson Youat Schnable. Water that has come into our basement has damaged equipment, furniture, boxes and their contents, and is a threat to our foundation. I believe we have exhausted our options to comprehensively deal with the amount of storm water that is presented to us. We would love for the city to address the water coming down the street. Water is hazardous! Apparently a young boy drown in one of the ponds in Wylie Farm subdivision, i was told it was this one. I fell in this one myself, there is an extremely slippery plastic sheet that covers the entire bottom of the pond, up to the edge of the water. If the water is high you don't see it, if its low it's exposed on the edges. When it was low i went to the edge to take a picture of the water. I fell in by slipping the instant my foot hit the plastic sheet, all the way up to my shoulders and i fell down 3 more times trying to stand up. I ended up having to get on my hands and knees to crawl out in order to get enough friction on the plastic to move and pull myself up by grabbing handfuls of the grass growing on the shore! A small kid would almost certainly drown there. A very insufficient "fence" made of 3 almost invisible plastic wires had been put around one of the ponds. A much, much better fence needs to be put around all of them, or eventually another kid will drown.
Drunken college students (I bet you wish you had a dollar for every time one of these started that way) pulled a pipe out of the ground from down the block and threw it in my yard during little 5. I know where they pulled it from since I used to pass it on my way to work. It is vertical and has orange spray paint on it and I'm assuming it was used to mark water lines or other utility info under ground.
