In November the city engineering team came out and added a new side inlet to an existing drain that goes under Dunn street from the back of 2950 N Lakewood. However, the only erosion prevention put in place was some straw. With all the nearby honeysuckle/plant removal the recent storms have caused a lot of the nearby dirt (and straw) to move and now the drain is almost completely filled with dirt and debris that has entered in the last couple rain storms. I tried reaching out a few times (Kriste L and Phil P) this past winter but haven't seen anything put in to help hold the dirt in place until some plants/grasses grow in. The water flow is certainly much improved with the new inlet, but in my opinion the job is just not quite complete.

On the south side of Winslow at the west side of Piccadilly there has been progressive erosion where the drain pipe goes under Piccadilly. Whenever we get a strong rain for five or ten minutes the ditch backs up on the east side of Piccadilly and does not flow freely under the road. The erosion mentioned has noticeably progressed this year and if left unabated the road will eventually be at risk of breaking at its edge. Also, be aware that the heavy rains flood the east side ditch and form a pool over the sidewalk which also spills out onto Winslow. We can see this from our home. This is my property. The culvert in the utility easement on the side of my house is flooded, causing my side yard, back yard, and garage to flood. The inlet pipe appears to be plugged. The culvert is full of road sand and vegetation, which may be the issue. There is a fence around the side yard, but there is an 11 foot gate to allow entry. The stormwater grates at West Fourth and Fairview literally had small bushes growing in the sediment. I cleaned them again today-but why oh why can't these be part of regular maintenance? When they are blocked, which is most of the time, the water gets 6-8 inches deep at the alley near my house. I brought this to council last year when the city voted to raise fees and was promised by the director (Vic?) that this would be remedied. I have yet to see a clean up schedule or to see a worker ever clean these grates or clean the streets. I'm sick of it. There seems to be no dearth of resources for curbs and flower boxes and traffic restriction work. Why can't the city maintain the streets and storm sewers in a systematic fashion? What is the schedule for cleaning?

Today and always when there's been heavy rain over the last years, 1st Street floods in our stretch, because there's no drain in the block between Stull and Fess Ave. where we are. At our house, the water hits the curb of the alley in such a way that the entire grass patch and side way is flooded, making it dangerous to walk on the side way. I'm attaching a picture of now, when the rain has already become more steady. I can provide a number of short videos we've taken over the years to document the problem. Please, consider installing a drain or let us know what can be done about this. It is dangerous for us, our toddler son and our visitors. Thank you!

Hello, My home sits at the bottom of an incline where the water in the neighborhood drains onto our driveway and property. Every time it rains the water causes erosion on the property and flooding to our garage and yard. Not only is the un-directed water effecting us, but is also causing the road to erode where water is standing on the asphalt. As well as eroding neighbors propertys and driveway, which then end up in front of our home puddled in the street,(water,gravel,soil). A solution could be installing curbs and catchment drains in the surrounding area to better direct the water from causing more damage to ours and neighboring properties. Drainage channel near 10th and Fairview is clogged with debris from recent flooding events. It needs to be dug out to allow water to drain and avoid breeding mosquitoes. Location is halfway between Fairview and the path connecting Butler Park to the B line.

Flooding from the drainage creek that runs along Patterson (by Catalent). My home on Allen is 4 houses down from the creek. I've lived here since Aug 2013, and this has only been an issue since 2018/19. It's flooded to this extent 5 times in the last 3 years, never once in the 5 years prior. This timeframe roughly correlates with when infrastructure construction happened for Switchyard Park which is just a couple blocks away. When I've reported previously, I've simply been told "no blockage found." So I'm hoping for more feedback this time. I think the city needs to look into flooding mitigation in our neighborhood.
