1.1.2024 Water rates have increased starting 1/1/24. Customers will see these changes reflected on the February bill. These rates, as approved by the USB, City Council, and IURC will increase funding to the drinking water infrastructure.

8.1.2022: On 3/15/22 House Enrolled Act 1002 was signed into law, removing the Utility Receipts Tax for usage beginning 8/1/22. This removal is approximately a 1.16% reduction in CBU customers' monthly water charges of the utility bill. For a typical residential customer using 5,000 gallons per month, this means an approximate savings of $4.08 per year. However, an increase related to bond sales from the 2021 Water Rate Case is also applied for a slight increase overall. New rates can be viewed at bloomington.in.gov/utilities/rates
