Family Resource Center

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.

Located on the third floor, this is a place where families, epecially those new to the community, can gather information, network with others, build a support system, and enjoy their children in a fun, safe space.

Evans-Porter Memorial Library

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.

The Banneker Community Center is proud to host the Evans-Porter Memorial Library. Come browse the book selections, magazines and resource maerials located in the Library. Check-out procedures are easy and convenient.

Banneker Community Center Advisory Council

Share your ideas for programs, activities and special events in the Evans-Porter Memorial Library at the Banneker Community Center. An opportunity for public comment is offered at each meeting. Banneker Green Thumbs Garden

The Banneker Green Thumbs Garden, located at the Banneker Community Center on West Seventh Street, enables youth enrolled in the Banneker Community Center's after-school, summer, and preschool programs to learn the art of organic gardening. Bloomington Parks and Recreation's Community Gardening Program partners with the Banneker Green Thumbs Garden to help educate the youth of our community while producing food to be distributed to community members in need through the Plant a Row for the Hungry campaign.

Animal Tales

It's never too early to discover our amazing natural world. After learning about one of Indiana's incredible wildlife species, we will read a story and complete a craft about that critter. Each session features a different animal. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is per child. For ages 5 yrs. and younger. Instructor: Anna Rossler

Naturally Dyed Eggs

Calling all Easter bunnies! This year, color your eggs using natural dyes. Learn how to create dyes from different foods and spices. Participants can color several eggs as well as use different techniques to create shapes and patterns on the eggs. For all ages. Instructor: Anna Rossler
