All ages are welcome. Children under age 10 yrs. must be accompanied when in the facility by a responsible caregiver age 18 yrs. and up.

Banneker Community Center is CLOSED on: Memorial Day, May 30; Independence Day, July 4

Facility Information
Gymnasium, restrooms, full kitchen, library, and the third floor Family Resource Center. The gymnasium, kitchen, and the third floor are available for rental. Call 812-349-3735 for reservation and cost information.

Bloomington Transit #3 drops at Fifth and Elm Streets

Accessibility Designated accessible parking space on west side of building, ramp and elevator on ground floor, gym entrance is accessible.

Family Resource Center

Hours through 6/4/17: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-noon
Hours 6/5-7/28: Monday-Friday, 9-11 a.m. and 5-7 p.m.

Located on the third floor, this is a place where families, epecially those new to the community, can gather information, network with others, build a support system, and enjoy their children in a fun, safe space. Play space is not available outside of scheduled hours.

Evans-Porter Memorial Library

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.

The Banneker Community Center is proud to host the Evans-Porter Memorial Library. newly updated and growing, the library offers fiction and nonfiction books for adults, teens, and children. Recent encyclopedias and other reference materials are available to help with homework. A focus on African-American history and culture reflects the library's location in a historically significant building and neighborhood.
