the 1700 blk of N Washington St is extremely difficult to drive on. constantly cars are parked on both sides of the street. there are no parking signs on the north bound side, but not on the south bound side. Also, is there a plan to place no parking signs in the 300 and 400 block on East 19th St? This area is also impassable throughout the day and night hours. Thank you.
Is there a way to level Allen St from the stop sign back about 50 feet at the Bloomfield Rd intersection? The slope causes accidents and near accidents. We've had 3 cars in our yard since we've been there. We've had to fix up the chain link fence best we could. In 2 situations, our gas meter was hit, which is a serious hazard. This is a dangerous intersection! Is there a way to alter the grading of the street on Allen as you turn onto Bloomfield Rd? It is so steep that it is dangerous turning right or left.Drivers creep out onto Bloomfield FAR to try to make the turn. It's difficult to see and the hill is so steep that it's hard to get traction on the road to pull out. The center lane on Bloomfield is a help, but not enough. Something needs to change on Allen. We live on that corner and another accident happened today from someone making that turn. Is it possible to change the grading of the road? Can Allen be diverted to a little further East so it's not so steep? Can the actual street be raised? Would a traffic light help at that corner? Nobody likes this intersection. We've lived here 12 years and have witnessed several bad wrecks. Please consider doing something before someone is hurt.
The stop sign at Allendale & Bainbridge is constantly driven thru without cars stopping. It’s frightening when we have so many kids in the neighborhood, & it is a school bus stop. With school starting again, it’s a concern. I’ve seen numerous cars just whip around a school bus there without hardly slowing down. I also think it would be really helpful to have speed bumps on Eeliston Dr., on the way to the park. We have so many pedestrians on the street, and no sidewalk.
We live on the only road in Sherwood Oaks that has no side walks for pedestrians to use for safety when walking/biking. The issue with this is we live on a main thoroughfare to Sherwood Oaks Park, Rodgers Park, Clear Creek Trail, Childs Elementary, and Jackson Creek Elementary. We need better signs, and speed reduction devices such as speed bumps to slow down traffic that speed through our area and are a hazard to all that walk to the above places including children. The refusal to make this street part of the park green way and safer is absolutely absurd. The past excuses from the city included that we are a dead end with no speeding tickets or wrecks, which is why the city has refused to take action in the past. Please do not wait for someone to get injured or die on this road before you make it safer for all that live and use it for recreation.
Hello! At the intersection of 6th and Waldron in the Near West Neighborhood of Bloomington is a circular installment--a raised concrete circle with a planter in the middle, with hazard signs. It's very confusing whether motorists should treat this as a roundabout or a regular intersection (i.e. a two-way stop, as Waldron has stop signs). Recently I've had two near-accidents, as I treated it as a roundabout: traveling west along 6th street, I needed to turn south onto Waldron, so I went three-quarters around the "roundabout" to get onto Waldron. According to Street Division, whom I just called, this was the correct course of action. However, both times, a car traveling north along Waldron assumed that--since I had gone to the right of the installement--I was heading straight along 6th, so they tried to turn left onto 6th and nearly hit me as I rounded the "roundabout." Therefore, I would like to request signage that clarifies to all motorists whether this is a roundabout or not. Specifically, I think this should be a roundabout. The current hazard signs and construction only indicate that there is an object to be avoided--not how drivers should behave. Thank you for your time.
I and several others are concerned about speeding traffic on East Winston Street. Is it possible to place speed bumps or a flasher on our street?
The intersection of Burks Drive and Walnut Street needs to be crossed by pedestrians and cyclists fairly often, but there is lots of high speed traffic on that road. Pedestrians coming from the residential areas around Burks have no way to safely cross Walnut Street. The sidewalk on the east side of walnut is currently closed, but it is missing several sections even when it is open, so you can't even walk along Walnut to the crossing at Rhorer Road. This problem will be exacerbated by the new library branch. Residents east of Walnut will have no way to safely and easily reach the library except by car. There needs to be a light and crosswalk of some sort installed so that it is passable.
Just a suggestion, it would be helpful to have a crosswalk from Bloomington HS South from or around the faculty parking lot and or where the busses line up to a side walk. Currently, students are just crossing the street and it’s really unsafe.
Clearly line the double left hand turn lanes for the transition from southbound 45 Bypass to East bound E. Discovery Parkway. I've been almost hit multiple times making this turn. People have a hard time telling where they should be on the road. Lighting should also be added to this intersection, it is very difficult to see at night here.
