We have a drainage pipe? That runs under our ground and out to 10th street. Us custodians try to keep the ditch clean across the yard, but the pipe is so clogged with sand and dirt we’re getting a deep pond after a rain. When the pond water goes over our hill it takes debris with it onto our sidewalk and sometimes to the city bus stop. Is this something you can help with? Thanks!
There is a creek that runs along W Milton Lane and crosses S Victor Pike. Recently, I have noticed that there is a new smaller stream flowing into this creek. This new stream just appeared recently in the last week or two. It seems pretty strong. I didn't know if this new stream was due to a busted pipe, if it was coming from the Victor Oolitic Limestone company, which is at the top of the hill, or if it is in fact a new stream, which seems unlikely. It seems random that it would all of a sudden appear and be as strong as it is. In the pictures, you will see the good sized creek, and then you will see the new stream that is now coming down and feeding into this creek. I have also attached a google map picture showing where you can stand, the red X, to view this new stream.
There are multiple drainage issues in this area. The 2 outlets from the stormwater drain are partially covered (just west of the storm drain across Monon Dr). I’m not sure if the drain under the road is clear. The area floods readily with any rain. The ditch that runs west is blocked by leaves where it goes under a driveway and by debris closer to clear creek (at the end of hillside). Because this is one of the only drains/outlets/drainage ditches in the area it’s important to get it cleaned out. Can you help?
I am writing to bring attention to an issue I am facing as a new homeowner at 909 W Cardinal Ct, Bloomington, IN. There is a runoff in my backyard that originates from a creek in a nearby park. This runoff significantly affects the usability of my property, as I am unable to extend my backyard or fully maintain the lawn beyond my fenced-in area due to flooding. As the homeowner, I am responsible for cleaning and mowing the area on the other side of the fence, but i cannot access this space due to the water accumulation. I have reviewed the blueprint and property lines (LOT 4), and I do not believe there should be a body of water running through my backyard. I am also aware that my neighbors have previously complained about this issue, and I would like to resolve it so that I can fully enjoy and utilize my entire property. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in addressing this matter, as I am paying a substantial mortgage but am unable to fully access my entire property. There seems to be a lot of damage to the south wall of the culvert beside this property. Someone should check it out before it collapses. Thank you!
Storm water drain is clogged causing large “pond” of water on the north side of Atwater and potentially a storm runoff problem for property owners that could lead to flooding basements.
Utilities Department sprayed unknown "pre-treat" chemical on storm water rain garden on Allen St. No notice to adjacent property owners was made. No signage. No posting of what was used. When I confronted them they said it was "not bad". Samuel Arthur, Green Infrastructure Crew" was onsite. Please consult other City departments that do NOT treat with chemicals and manage gardens just fine.
New apartments being build with very poor drainage caused new flooding on park square drive at enterence of complex. Never had flooding in the area before and water runs right down new enterence into drain that is being clogged with mud from construction and is not big enough for area. Flooding caused many new potholes on said road.
We had an ice buildup issue in the last deep freeze we’ve never seen before on 3rd st. Not even from the first deep freeze. Water runs from the location and house I tagged all the way down to 4th street and hasn’t stopped even as everything else has dried up post rain. Not sure if it’s a house issue or pipe issue but figured worth noting.
After heavy rains Sat. and Sun., 19th St. between Walnut and N. Washington looked ghetto with all the trash that washed down from Lincoln St. All the storm drains along 19th were and are packed with trash and debris. The storm water drainage in this area is under sized. This has been a problem for years.
