I recommend removing the new zebra crossing at the lights on the corner of 3rd and Jordan. It is the only zebra crossong at this intersection but all pedestrian crossing at this intersection is controlled by crossing signals. I have seen a number of pedestrians cross against the crossing signal at this zebra crossing suggesting there may be some confusion regarding when pedestrians can cross.

Hi. After witnessing my third or fourth car accident in the past six months at the exact same intersection (when walking on the sidewalk every time), I would like to request the installation of a traffic light at Longview and Pete Ellis. This intersection, only two minutes from my house, is undeniably dangerous and (I am 99% positive) fatal at least once. The faster traffic on Pete Ellis doesn't have a stop sign, so when cars on Longview turn, it is hard for them to detect those fast vehicles. I have almost been hit crossing the street it is that bad. Today, December 22nd, a friend of mine was seriously hurt in an accident at that intersection.Despite the costs of a traffic light and the work it will entail, I do not want to risk my life and my friends' lives and the lives of other citizens anymore. I might send an additional, more detailed letter to the mayor if this does not go through. I sincerely hope you consider this proposal. Thank you.
It would be easier and safer to cross the 17th street and Kinser Pike if the traffic light had a WALK SIGN for pedestrians. I think this is important because there are many college students living around this area, and they have to take the bus 6 to go to the campus. Thank you.
In the alley adjacent to Bloomington Center for Global Children at 1111 North Walnut Street, traffic often travels both ways. As a parent who picks up a young child there, I am keenly aware of the danger presented by a two way alley adjacent to a child care center. I am requesting that this alley be made one way with traffic control as well, as the traffic traveling north on Walnut street presents another danger to those individuals turning west into the alley next to the center.
Please designate turn lanes (even if it's just one lane) at the stop sign heading east on Covenanter Drive at Buick-Cadillac Blvd (and entrance to Kroger). It is hard enough when people in B'ton tend to lack a knowledge of 4-way stop laws, and the use of turn signals is inconsistent at best. Thanks!!
Backed up West bound traffic on Bloomfield Road is made a bit worse with the lights here off sensor during construction. The timing is providing more time than needed for cross traffic and turn lane, should be set much longer for E-W Bloomfield. The light further east at Twin Lakes has very sensitive sensor for cross traffic, also adding to the backup, could let the cross traffic wait longer and reset if they escape with a right turn on red to keep the E-W flow going if it can.
The current congestion on W Bloomfield Rd., west of Highway 37, seems to be caused in part by the timing of traffic signal here (the intersection of W. Bloomfield Rd., S. Basswood Dr., and S. Oakdale Dr.), Almost all the traffic here is east-west on Bloomfield Rd. There is very little traffic on Basswood Dr. or Oakdale Dr. But the but the traffic signal stays green for a very long time for the south traffic on Basswood Dr. and the north traffic on Oakdale Dr. I think the congestion of Bloomfield Rd. would be alleviated somewhat if the traffic signal at this intersection were reset so that it stayed green longer for the ease-west Bloomfield Rd. traffic. Adams and 2nd street lights, as well as Adams and Patterson lights, take what seems to be a much longer time for cars on either side of Adams. I have sat here for more than 5 minutes with almost no traffic on 2nd. I have also been in a line of 10 cars all waiting forever. Especially when only one car is on either side of Allen, this light is probably the worst I've experienced in town (2nd worst is Adams at Patterson, which also seems to have changed in the recent past to take forever). Please allow these two intersections to change so that the Adams lights on both have a more frequent change or less time to wait. Thank you.
