Kim Evans would like to know why the mowers have not been mowing the northern slope of Park Ridge East Park. It is becoming overgrown in areas we were previously able to walk.

Training for Indy Monumental Marathon and running lots! The Bloomington B-Line and Rail Trail and Clear Creek trails are AWESOME!! As I always do, this am I start at Hillside and S. Lincoln, run west on Hilside across Walnut until where Hillside dead ends. run south and this street deadends. There is a pat through the woods that picks up old rail line. run west into the former railyard. run across this area passing over the soon to be completed new B-Line and pick up what I call the rail trail but not certain if technically this is the rail trail. This continues until Country Club. Cross Country Club and am on the official Rail Trail. This am, a private security vehicle and 2 guys stopped me as I came out of the wooded trail and was about to cross Country Club. They said I had been trespassing on CSX land. What is the deal? Where exactly is CSX property and where is it ok to run?

I took my son for youth video program at Rhino's around 3:30. There were only 3-4 teenagers and the instructor told us to wait a little bit because of their broken door or something. I didn't notice what was the problem. Then he came out from his office and told us about their video program. He said that basically kids borrow cameras and go home or somewhere and do their video project. And I left my son there. right before 6:00 pm I came back to pick him up and my son was sitting on the couch. I asked how the program was and he said they didn't do anything for those 2.5 hours. I couldn't believe him and kept asking questions. he said those teenagers played video games for 2.5 hours and he just watched them. When he said that I remembered that the instructor mentioned to me that "those kids come here to play video games." I know this is a free program, but I have seen many wonderful free programs throughout the country. I was so regretted that your official website has false advertisement. You really should take out that ad from your website.

We live on Wellington Drive in Sherwood Oaks and our street sign is turned so it looks like Wellington is Allendale and vice versa. Also off of Allendale, the Roxbury sign is bent. Many of the street signs hang crooked. I was hoping we could get a street sign crew to come check out our neighborhood sometime soon. Thanks, Michelle Sweeny 3511 Wellington Drive

Harold Evans e-mailed the department: this morning I read about one of your program offers in our local newspaper. Since I'm interested in water distribution in our city, I thought this tour of the many historical water sources in Bloomington could be worthwhile. The article directs us to sign up for this tour at our city website. There is no mention anywhere on that site about this particular event and many attempts to search for it were fruitless. I then contacted someone in your department by phone who didn't know anything about the event either. It seems to me that the signup process for events like this is so difficult that I really don't see how a sufficient number of people would ever be able to register in order to make the tour happen. If this is how you run your activity offers, I can see why you might look good to the city managers, but in fact, not be doing anything worthwhile at all. The way you are running your department, Mr. Renneisen, is a joke. It looks like this is another example of how our tax money is wasted on worthless politicians. Have a good and QUIET day. Dr. Harold F. Evans 812-330-1550.

Please! Can someone tell me why the intersection of Second Street and the B Line is still impassable?!? I understand that anything south of Second Street is part of Phase II so officially there has been no need to complete it and that there will eventually be a fancy inlay saying "Second Street" but just having a large hole where that eventually will go is unacceptable! Every other intersection along Phase II of the B Line has a piece of plywood or something laid over it so people can safely cross, why hasn't that been done at the busiest intersection along the trail! I bike that section of the B Line at least 4 times a day and every single time I have to awkwardly go offroading in order to get back on the trail for that 3 feet of trail that isn't paved. Or I have to continue on to Morton Street, usually angering drivers who are trying to turn onto Second. And that part of the B Line that isn't paved is so close to the street that is extremely unsafe for everyone. I can't count the number of times I seen children suddenly getting off their bikes in the middle of Second Street, with traffic that rarely yields to pedestrians, to maneuver around the unpaved section. Large groups of bikers will hold up traffic for a while as each of them get off their bike, walk around the hole then get back on. It is so frustrating and infuriating to continue further down south and see that landscaping has been completed and agility benches have been installed, yet no one has thought to put down a piece of plywood over that tiny section of trail that makes it extremely unsafe and inconvenient for people to use! I should have complained about this a year ago when it first became a problem but every day I thought "no, someone has to fix it, it's such an obvious problem that can be so easily fixed." I know I share this concern with many regular users of the B Line. My apologies for this not being a well-formed letter, I am just at the end of my rope!

Location of your Problem: ?? Southdowns Details: The branches of the trees (willows?) on Southdowns are hitting cyclists in the face if they stay in the designated bike lane, between Woodlawn (Bryan Park) and Highland. Please check both sides of Southdowns (one-way traffic). I think the trees need a trim.
