Mr. Stewart & his wife are upset reg: the $75,000 that's going to be used for the Farmer's Market. They feel that "you're fixing something that isn't broke." They like the F's.M. jus the way it is in the old place, b/c the crowd's more vibrant. Now, they'll have that much farther to walk, and the $ could go to the skating rink to improve the ventilation with fans, by decreasing carbon monoxide for the kids.

401 N Morton ST

Case Date:
8/26/1997

Ms. Edmonds called in, b/c there is a red reflector sign at the North end of Wilton Drive that was knocked over by a City recycling truck a year ago, and it now leans over with growth completely covering it. Because it's completely obscured, she feels it doesn't work like it's supposed to to keep people from going past that point. She would like to see the sign put back up where it belongs, and the growth cut down and cleared away.

Disappointed that after school programs for her son, age 2 and daughter, age 6, @ the Banneker Center will be discontinued this fall. She spoke with Sherry Franklin, who was very nice and explained the situation -- giving her other possible resources. She now feels unwelcomed in the "community center" and fears programming will be geared only to older children in the future.

Mr. Crowe said he called 1 yr. ago in Oct. to Mayor's ofc., & 3 times since w/ NO response. This is regarding how dangerous it is for cyclists, joggers/walkers to use N. Dunn St. b/c Griffy Lake is "devouring" East side of Dunn. Also, brush along N. Dunn is literally hanging into road causing problems for motorists, as well as people. Brush scratches car, forced into oncoming lane to avoid people or brush - at this point feels city is liable if accidents of any kind occur. WANTS RESPONSE!
