Yeakel paid son's pkg tickets & next day a deputy came with writ for her arrest. Yeakel plans a vigorous "anti Bloomington/IU" campaign to expose B'ton as money sucking, illegal pkg operation. (Per Michael Flory, first notice sent 1995 with many notices (& a promise from Yeakel to pay during the last few years. Arrest after payment situation rarely happens. In Monroe County, writs are only used when one is pulled over for speeding or other moving violation.)

Mr. Walls is very happy that sand on the streets is removed once not needed, especially for children riding bikes etc., but he wonders why the city doesn't "filter/screen" it to recycle it for use during the rest of the winter season? He noted the method of "screening" for re-use - has street dept. considered this? He thinks it would be more cost-effective. If screening for re-use is NOT feasible, could sand be recycled for use as "fill material" for other city projects (Utilities dept.)?

Library block projection-light pole on it,crner has been extended, cars can park in it - "it's awkward & uncomfortable to make turn." He basically suggests NO MORE CURB EXT.'S!

Russ thinks we currently have a competent & polite inspection staff. His suggestion is that property owners be apprised when changes in code or policy affect rentals (ex. fire extinguisher, Smoke detector). Couldn't we take 35 cents out of our take from each registered owner and send them updated versions of addenda, or especially the "pre-inspection addendum?" Some landlords operating under permit would even upgrade their properties early if the code change makes sense for helath/safety (fx)

Mr. Sutherland is frustrated and perplexed, that the City has the nerve to take on so many construction projects at one time, especially when all the students are back in town. He had to detour 4 different times just to get to work on the west side of town. He thinks this is very poor planning on the part of the City, and he'd like to know how all of this construction can be scheduled to take place at the same time?

Mrs. Werner called in regard to the Halloween activities that are provided by the City. She really liked the "Enchanted Forest", and feels that the current events scheduled center too much on horror, murder and overall negative ideas for children, especially young children! "When you see what's going on with children/young adults these days, the last thing the City needs to be doing is promoting such evil activity." She would like to see Halloween activities to be more like the "E.F.".
