I recently advocated for my apartment building smoking to be25 ft away they moved it but it's now in the back of the building where there are 50 unit windows and ventilation system and out of contact HUD and I've contacted the PHA and I don't know what to do when it's 25 feet away but that is drifting to the windows and I know that there are people that could establish stricture policies. Smoking Violation

4750 N Lenzy Wy

Case Date:
4/14/2026

After battling with code my apartment building it 25 ft away with the smoking but they only moved it 25 ft away but it's still entering the 50 some windows in the back where they placed it and going in the ventilation system and I've tried contacting the Bloomington Housing Authority about it. I don't know what to do any recommendations I was told that the PHA can help enforce stricter things or even make a designated smoking area that's further than 25 ft away when I reached out to Bloomington Housing Authority I'm not too sure if I spoke with PHA they weren't very helpful I thought about contacting the health department because they can come out and see which way the wind blows and where it's drifting inside but when I looked it up I really didn't see anything to tell them about smoke issues. This place needs an inpection for so much

208A N Smith Rd

Case Date:

This comment is for the engineering department regarding proposed improvements to the intersection of Smith Road and Morningside Drive. My observation of traffic patterns over several months suggests that the stop signs at the intersection are not the only problem. The terrain on Smith Road, elevation changes, vegetation and sightlines for drivers are contributing factors. For southbound drivers, the railroad overpass obscures visibility until the stop sign can be seen from the McCracken Way entrance to the apartments south of the railroad, although it may not be noticeable to a casual observer because the sign is beyond the crest of a hill. The highest point of Smith Road is north of the Morningside intersection. Many of the offending drivers are commuters who drive on this route frequently and have developed a habit of not stopping at an intersection that typically has no cross traffic. A Stop Ahead warning sign near McCracken Way would alert drivers to the eminent stop sign. More prominent (larger size) stop signs at the intersection on both sides of the street, with two signs facing north and two signs facing south, would command further attention from drivers. Additional amendments to the road surface would signal to those who are visually impaired, with speed cushions and small depressions in the pavement similar to those used on either side of the center line on two lane highways, creating a rumble effect of sound and vibration. An exceptional remedy may be appropriate for an exceptional situation.

College & 3rd

Case Date:
5/14/2026

At the intersection of 3rd and College, for the 3rd Street eastbound lane, the "no turn on red" sign has been covered (I think for several weeks now), seemingly related to the convention center construction. This feels like a mistake? I don't know how the construction at the convention center makes it ok to now turn right on red. Can the sign be uncovered so that drivers are reminded, "No right on red"? Thank you for your time.

3rd St & Landmark IB

stoplight is still malfunctioning. we sat at this light (on landmark, trying to turn left onto 3rd) for almost 6 minutes this morning before giving up. it just repeats a cycle of the don't walk countdown for the crosswalk and then eventually goes back to the walk signal. the 3rd street light was green the entire 6 minutes we sat there. a few minutes later when i drove back home, a car drove up to the stoplight at landmark and the light changed instantly. so i know it doesn't malfunction every time but this has been a repeating issue for over a month now.

Is parking allowed on E. Maxwell, between the 1400 block and High Street. There are two "No Parking" signs, one at the corner of High St and Maxwell; and the 1500 block has only zone parking. I'm asking because when cars are parked on Maxwell in the area without signage, the street becomes very narrow. I do not believe on street parking is allow between the 1400 block and approximately the 1900 block. Just asking for clarification. Thank you. V/r, Mark

Street Lights

1655 S Oakdale DR

Case Date:
5/11/2026

Almost all street lights have been out at Oakdale apartments for months. It is almost completely dark around the entire apartment complex during the night/early morning. There are people walking around during these hours (some unhoused), and it seems like a safety hazard. Property management is aware & not responding to emails.

The street light at the intersection of Hawthorne Dr and University Street is not working. The wire from the electricity pole (on Hawthorne Dr, toward 1st street) to the light pole looks sagging from its normal position.
