Hello, I was biking north on S Walnut St. in the bike lane around 3:30pm on Friday afternoon. A BT bus passed me and then immediately pulled over in the bike lane to stop near Smith Ave. This alone is unacceptable, as the driver could have simply waited a few seconds to pull over instead of cutting me off. I was able to bike around the bus, but again, as we were approaching the 3rd St. intersection and the bike lane was disappearing, the bus passed me again. At the intersection, the bus was going to turn right onto 3rd, so I waited for the bus to turn, but then he waited for me to continue straight. I passed the bus on the right side and the driver (older white man) was clearly annoyed at me.
I support transit, but this interaction was uncomfortable and not how busses should interact with cyclists, especially on a busy corridor.

At 3:54 pm today, an emergency vehicle was approaching this intersection from the south (with lights and sirens) and a white BT SUV turned from W Grimes Lane onto N Walnut Street. The emergency vehicle turned west onto W Grimes Lane, making their paths a close call. This is just a friendly reminder for them to stop and yield rather than turn right before the emergency vehicle reaches the intersection.

There Thea’s a bus sitting parked along the the west side of College 15th to 16th from approximately 720 to Atleast 730+ This cause a line of site for cars trying to out of 15th because the bus was just sitting. I did not get the bus number but people trying to get on to college could look north to see if the lane was clear to pull out.

At approximately 4:14pm today (2/18/26) I was riding my bicycle in the bike lane on North College across from Square Donuts. Bus #2506, Route #6 (women with black hair) was stopped on the bike lane at the BT bus stop. I went around her into the lane of traffic. As I was going around her, she started pulling out at the time I was just behind her left shoulder. Her window was open, so I alerted her that I was there. I thought she would slow down or stop but instead she accelerated as she looked at me. She could have cared less. I got the look from her that said my bus is bigger you stop. I did stop abruptly almost wrecking in traffic otherwise she would of ran over me or further pushed me into traffic. Please email me what your resolution was as I will follow up.

Hello - there is a very loud phone ringing noise that originates at a car lot on S. Walnut Street (I think it comes from Royal Toyota South). I live about 2,000 feet away on Somersbe Place off of S. Rogers. I can hear the phone ring inside my house with the doors and windows closed. This is a rather annoying noise carrying over a great distance. Will you please work with the City and the car lot to put an end to this offensive noise creating a nuisance for everyone living within a given radius of the car lot? Thanks!

Hello I had a question regarding business and golf carts. I am in the process of establishing a transportation company that provides rides around Bloomington on golfcarts. First of all are golfcarts legal on the streets of bloomington and could we establish a business giving rides for money.
Thanks,
Erik

Hello I had a question regarding pedicabs/velocabs. 1st off are they allowed to operate in the city of Bloomington and are there any restrictions on them? Are there any pedicab companies that operate in Bloomington currently or have in the past?
Thanks,

Hello - I am reporting a noise violation that I have previously reported to the City. I do not want to burden the police department with this, as I believe it can be worked out in a reasonable manner.
The Royal Toyota South car lot on Walnut is a noise violation according to City Ordinances.
I first reported this problem in December 2017 (Ureport Case #162088). The case is marked as "resolved" although the phone continues to ring just as loud and just as frequently to this day.
Since that time, I have determined the City simply does not care. Business with multiple locations and money in town, versus lowly homeowner. I decided to report it again today because the phone has been ringing quite a bit lately.
A review of City Ordinance 14.09.040 does not show this as a valid exemption. Under 14.09.030(c)(4) a loudspeaker is a prohibited noise. Also, I have heard this phone ring between the hours of 9pm and 7am previously which "is prima facie evidence of a violation of this section."
The car lot has previously acknowledged to the City that this is their phone ringing.
I simply want to be afforded the quiet enjoyment of my home and my property free from this incessant noise violation. I am roughly 2,000 feet from this car lot. I also know this is heard on the golf course at the Country Club, more than 3,000 feet from the car lot.
The City is allowing one perpetrator to cast a very wide net of annoyance to local residents through a repeated noise violation. Please help those of us on the south side by putting an end to this violation of City ordinances. Thank you.
Best,
Nick
