Hi, I noticed that there is a lot of water seeping from the water meter area of my neighbor's yard. His address is 1200 E Prairie Drive, in the Fairwood Terrace subdivision off Old 37 North, near the fire station. The meter is located near the Fairwood Drive side of his yard. He doesn't go outside much so probably hasn't noticed it. I think there may be a leak or something so I thought I should report it.
In the 1300 block of W 6th Street, the culvert where the open ditch goes under the North side of W 6th Street is nearly closed by debris, limbs, trash and a tire. The water is backed up. When it gets warmer it will be a prime mosquito breeding site and public health nuisance. This open ditch re-emerges near Kleindorfer's Hardware, goes around the auto body shop and under 3rd Street between that shop and Hinkle's Hamburgers. Litter, trash, plastic wrap & etc line the banks of this ditch and are no doubt being washed into the watershed. Shouldn't these businesses be required to send an employee out there periodically to clean up this trash?
First of all, thank you for filling in all the potholes I have mentioned to you over the past weeks. I must say that maybe there is a misunderstanding re # 163413. I don't see any water valve there and the pothole is still the same: intersection of Jordan and Sheridan. Not far from there is another pothole: on S Eastside Drive, where it intersects with First Street. Also, there is a utility cut in front of 1800 E Second, that is getting deeper by the day.
1st thing brings me to this site, my trash was not picked up today even tho was out last nite, damn near 40 bucks a month is 3 x what i was paying with stickers, for the same amount of trash, this sux ass for the poor man, the other thing when i 1st moved to Bloomington it was a nice and beautiful lil city, now its a bunch of apartments AND I mean A bunch, your tearing town Victorian style homes and houses to put up concrete cubes all over, most with no tornado hide outs, looks like a bunch of coffins waiting to happen just add students. And last yr ya jacked up the water rates to pay for folks who dont even live here yet, and the water quality is no good without filters, if this is your ideal of progress all i have to say is why destroy a beautiful town, my guess is all you folks cashing in on bloomington redevelopment. have moved out of town and just really dont care what ya did to the rest of us, because i now live in a town where most of us who moved in 15 yrs and earlier cant afford to live anymore, and since the town has grown ugly who cares, you folks have ruined a once beautiful and free thinking town, replaced buy an over priced town of apartments, nothing but an IU leech. im so sad ya'll did this to the town i was gonna spend my last yrs in.....
Hello, last month I received a water bill of incredible cost due to my apartment having a major leak in one of its toilets we were unaware of until the bill had arrived. Our property manager and his maintanence team was able to resolve the problem and the proof that is in the attached image. I am wondering if there is any possible way to have a reduction in its cost! My water for the 5th time in 8 years has been shut off because it was confused with my neighbors. I also believe I have been charged for their water usage. Note they had 4 kids and 2 adults there I am by myself, and yet I had an $80 bill. I live at 2602 South Bryan St. and have been here sense 2009. The other resident was at 2602 ½. This happens after each neighbor moves out. Right now the vacant unit has water in it. This also happened to me about 2 or 3 weeks ago and I thought it was resolved that time. It is Bloomington City Water's responsibility to keep this from happening. I need 3 things from you (1) an apology for having done this so many times. (2) An actionable plan as to what you are going to do to stop this in the future. (3) A review of my utility bill for having been over charged.
Old IUCU drive thru lanes at Whitehall Plaza on west 3rd Street.. The building has tarps covering the front and wind damage has town those off and exposed pipes, graffiti, hanging boards, and water damage. This is an eyesore, dangerous and is not safe to walk or drive by... There are swinging boards and I have picked up several boards with nails in them and placed in the flowerbed.
Overgrown bamboo at 1002 W 6 St and Elm bending into sidewalks and street obstructing traffic. Bird droppings covering the sidewalk. The invasive plant has encroached on neighboring property where we live at 1004, so we are having to engage removal services and eventually install impermeable barriers at our expense. The back yard of 1002 is overgrown also, feral cats, possum and a skunk have been sited or smelled in a fallen shed which has not been cleared out. The Elm Street side of 1002 is full of debris and overgrowth and there is an unattended stagnant water feature where we hear frogs in the summer (which do attract copperhead snakes). Someone does seem to be inhabiting the house, though we know that the owner of the house does not reside in Indiana presently.
Water struggles to get around e Morningside and n Sheffield without pooling. Any chance curb can be built up a bit there or the cement can be shaved a bit to let the water keep flowing by? Thanks!
