Upper Cascades Park was purchased in 1929 along with portions of the property that became Cascades Golf Course. The accessible Lion's Den picnic shelter and a playground are located on the north side of Clubhouse Drive, across from the Cascades Golf Course Clubhouse. The picnic shelter and playground encompass about one acre.

A porta john is located at the Lion's Den shelter. Restroom facilities are also available at the Cascades Golf Course Clubhouse, during hours when the course is open for play.
