CONTRACTORS & DEVELOPERS

CBU’s Final Acceptance and Approval are valid for one (1) year from the date appearing on the letter in which Final Acceptance and Approval is given.  Construction may not begin without final acceptance and approval of the plans.  After one year has elapsed, resubmittal of plans will be required.  Upon your project’s plan approval by CBU, the Contractor and/or Developer must contact CBU to schedule a preconstruction meeting at least one (1) week PRIOR to start of construction. 

 

Pre-Construction Meeting Requirement:

NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person meetings are not being held at our office.  Please see our alternate requirements below.

 

  • Please complete this Questionnaire PRIOR to start of construction, and email it to: UtilitiesPlanReview@bloomington.in.gov along with any additional questions that you may have regarding construction, inspection, testing, estimated fees, concerns, etc. 
  • The Utilities Technician will be in touch with you to go over your items and provide answers to each of your questions.

  • NO UTILITY WORK may begin on-site prior to this requirement being completed.

 

 

Primary Agenda Items Include:

  • Inspector Notification & Field Changes
  • Permitting – Street cuts, ROW Permit, Traffic Control Plans, Erosion Control, Grading permits
  • Any water/sanitary sewer bypass work taking place
  • Water Interruptions & Boil Orders
  • Project phasing
  • Infrastructure testing – water, sewer, fireline, etc.
  • Grease Interceptor
  • Back Flow Prevention & Testing Requirements
  • Stormwater quality control measures & inspections, CSGP, SWPPP, Erosion Control, etc.
  • Scheduling water & sewer taps
  • New Services & Connection Fees, Billing Information, Provide basic quotes if fixture counts have been provided
  • Fireline Requirements & Associated Fees, Billing Information
  • Fireline Designer info
  • Location of the STORZ connection
  • Any project-specific questions or concerns
  • Walk-through inspection requirements upon completion of the infrastructure, etc.
