We had our basement flood (wet carpet in half the basement) on January 20, 2017 without any previous sign of leakage on that side of the house. The source of the water is unclear, but I'm wondering if the home (built ca. 1973) has a footer drain connected to the storm drain. Kevin Potter is coming out to inspect for structural damage at 2 pm today (1/25/17) The city storm drain was updated within the past two years with the new pipe starting at the down-slope corner of our property. The neighbor two houses up-slope from us discharges a lot of water from his property and had excavation work done near the end of his french drain on the 18th or 19th. Part of this work involved off and onloading a sizeable backhoe in front of our driveway near where the old and new drain pipe would be joined. I'm not sure what work the neighbor had done. In addition to his drainage, the neighbor immediately down slope from us was also draining his pool into the storm drain on what had been a very rainy week. Is it possible to send a city employee out to see whether some combination of these activities has caused the drainage system to fail or otherwise backflow into our house? Thanks!

In front of our home, 2301 E Arden Dr, there is fairly significant erosion taking place along the edge of the road. I know it's hard on the snow plows and it's just crumbling and could use a fresh layer of tar. If you all could please add that to the repair list, I haven't noticed a lot of trouble elsewhere on the street, but we are on a corner, at the bottom of an incline, and near a water drain. I would really appreciate it. Thank you!!!

Good afternoon, I am writing to report an issue with water drainage coming from the roofs of houses and dumping on to the sidewalk. Along N. Indiana Ave, many houses/apartments (owned by Elkins Apartments) have drainage downspouts that empty directly on to the sidewalk. This creates a hazard with constant freeze and thew during the winter months. I have personally felt unsafe walking down a sloped sidewalk, on what is pure ice during periods this winter. Indiana Ave. is a very high foot traffic area during winter months as fans walk to and from basketball games. From witnessing several people slip and fall on the ice, I feel like it is my duty as a citizen to report this issue to the city. Though we have been blessed this season with relatively mild temperatures, this does not overshadow the safety hazard created from the downspouts off many of these houses. This problem would ideally need to be handled quickly before the next cold spell of weather. Thank you. Best regards

I live at 415 W. Graham Drive. There are very deep, somewhat large, holes at the end of my driveway from the water flow when it rains. I was hoping someone could come out and tell me if I need to repair or if it's the cities responsibility. Turning in to my driveway multiple times a day is becoming a hazard. Hi, The stormwater drains in this neighborhood are no longer able to process light rain. Since the Echo Park subdivision was built, we have noticed an increase in the amount of water collecting near the drains. Historically, the drains have not processed the stormwater quickly enough so the water pools in the street causing traffic and parking disruption. We would like to find a solution to this stormwater and runoff issue. Thanks, Gavin Kelly

There is a really big hole at the corner of East Thornton Drive and South Covey Lane - it gets bigger with each rain (water runs down the hill off Thornton). Do you think that this can be patched soon before it gets much worse? Thank you so much.
