MS. TRITLE CALLED AND STATED THAT HER WATER HAD BEEN SHUT OFF AND WANTED TO TALK TO MIKE PHILLIPS.
Mr. Leeds wrote and letter was received on 9/8/98. He stated he received phone call from CBU stating that his water was to be disconnected due to non-payment. He came to CBU within an hour and paid his bill. On 9/1/98, he returned home and discovered that his water was disconnected. When he contacted CBU, he was told that he paid the "wrong" bill and that his payment was not applied to the delinquent amount. He stated he was made to feel that he was wrong and CBU was unforgiving.
Mr. Carrico upset b/c he's being charged $10 fee to adjust a bill. He's happy $45 adjustment is being made, however it seems ludicrous when it was CBU's negligence in the first place that led to the original problem (water line leak, CBU read meter but never notified them until too late). Also, he is upset that CBU says it's open at 8am, but whenever he calls (which has been frequently) at 8am no one answers. He feels that customer service should be available at time given on recording.
Confusion regarding the Stecker's water bill has caused them distress and concern. Please clear up the situation. See letter.
Mr. Carrico recent water bill was 3 times the normal rate. He later learned that Utilities had a list of people whose water bills increased drastically. Mr. Carrico is upset that no one informed him as soon as this was noticed so he could look into the problem. After he was informed, he called a plumber and it will be several days before they can work him in. He would like an adjustment to his bill.
Gary Coonce called re. his account that is in his wife's name - Katherine Coonce - at 1313 Hickory Grove Lane. Mr. Coonce has experienced high bills. He feels his sewer bill should not be double the amount of his water bill. Mr. Coonce stated that he or his wife will appear at the USB meeting on 1/20/98 to state his complaint at that time.
Ms. Pitcher is upset that she has been billed $75 for water usage in the last month. She said she is a single woman, and could never use that much water in a month! She said she did water her lawn/flowers in September, because it was still warm enough. She said she spoke w/ Utilities, and they told her the Utilities Board could extend the Summer Water program, and did not.
Mrs. Soni called the Utilities dept. regarding her water bill, to see if they wld. change her billing cycle to read DUE ON ____ (anytime during the 1st week of every mo.). Currently, she receives a bill that is due on the 26th of every mo. She wld. like it changed so her checks won't "cross" the billy cycle, and also so she won't receive a DISCONNECT NOTICE every mo. She says, " It's counterproductive, really." The Utilities dept. says they will NOT change her billing cycle-she's not happy.
Mr. Strats called the Mayor's Office at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 1997 to express concern over his water being turned off. He had originally received a notice that his water bill was late, then showed proof of payment to Utilities. After doing so, Utilities informed him that he would be taken off the list, but his water at the Uptown Cafe (his business) water still turned off.
SCOTT PATE CALLED AND TALKED TO CUSTOMER SERV. DEPT. SEVERAL TIMES. HE WANTED TO PROTEST LARGE BILL FOR HIS RESIDENCE. HE STATES THAT HE LIVES ALONE AND FEELS THAT THE WATER USAGE FOR 1 MONTH IS TOO LARGE AND THAT HE CANNOT FIND A LEAK.
