I've been meaning to report for some time. During major rain events stormwater rushes into my basement in through the sanitary sewer drain. The last time was June 2021 and storm water poured in for 8-10 hours solid. Luckily I have installed a sump pump that kept the overall water level manageable. I've lived at this address for 10+ years and this problem has occurred 3-5 times total. It only happens when the storm water system is overwhelmed. I believe the same happens for my neighbors. Is there anything I can do to prevent more back flow during major rain events?

Sorry if this is duplicate submission. Not sure last one went through. I have gulley in front of my house that is blocked by growth coming up between sparse rip rap. Water is eroding the gulley by finding path around foliage and leaves carried from upstream. Went out today after rain and water in not draining well at all. In November the city engineering team came out and added a new side inlet to an existing drain that goes under Dunn street from the back of 2950 N Lakewood. However, the only erosion prevention put in place was some straw. With all the nearby honeysuckle/plant removal the recent storms have caused a lot of the nearby dirt (and straw) to move and now the drain is almost completely filled with dirt and debris that has entered in the last couple rain storms. I tried reaching out a few times (Kriste L and Phil P) this past winter but haven't seen anything put in to help hold the dirt in place until some plants/grasses grow in. The water flow is certainly much improved with the new inlet, but in my opinion the job is just not quite complete.

The storm drain in front of my house clogs repeatedly. This is the storm drain on the south side of the street. Please replace the old storm drain grill with a more modern one like the one across the street. Today the water was backed up so high that it took me 5 minutes of work just to find the grill so that I could clear it.

Drainage channel near 10th and Fairview is clogged with debris from recent flooding events. It needs to be dug out to allow water to drain and avoid breeding mosquitoes. Location is halfway between Fairview and the path connecting Butler Park to the B line.

The heavy rainfall today has resulted again in flash flooding our backyard. The beehive drain in the City's drainage easement within the Brigs Bend cul de sac in Hyde Park is deteriorating around and above the drain structure, with large sink holes with active water flowing in the ground. There is another sink hole developing to the east of the drain with active water flowing below ground. We believe the storm pipe(s) may be compromised in some way that causes flash flooding to occur, over-filling the north and east swales that subsequently fills our back and side yard with flood water within seconds. We have videos of the drain after the storm today showing water draining through these holes in the ground. We believe this is a dangerous situation, particularly with the transformer at the top of the drain open to the large sink hole. This is at 2737 E Brigs Bend and 2712 Olcott.

The storm water inlet looks like it is washing away under the grate cover and have a sinkhole and erosion problems on the back side.

During the evening rainstorm of 7/10/2021, the storm water swale to the north of our home overfilled its banks and flooded our back and side yards. Luckily, the rain stopped before the water breached our basement window well, which happened July 18-19, flooding our basement. The storm pipes below these swales are obviously under-sized. We request a re-assessment of these swales by a storm water engineer to mitigate future flooding and the property damage we have already experienced. We believe repeated high storm water flow during the past several years has caused erosion of the swales and they are no longer able to hold current storm water run-off.

The low area of this block (1100 South between Washington and Lincoln) is in the old alley and is first flooded by the overflowing ditch along Davis Street and then water continues to flow up from damage pipe clean outs even when water in the ditch has lowered. The water peaked at about 1 foot higher than shown in the attached picture. There is a storm sewer manhole behind this garage, but no inlets are nearby. Is sanitary sewer infiltration to blame for this? Would fixing the clean outs lead to backups inside homes?
