Ms Burnham left a VM for me on Aug 24, 2015 but I was out of the office. She said they have some drainage issues with in the yard and is related to a little drainage ditch that runs at the end of the lots.
Mr Williams left a voice message for me on 8/14/15 regarding drainage in the back yard area of his neighborhood.
Drainage problems, customer would like a new culvert built. Per Tony Eads, I have assigned this to Phil Pedin in CBU Engineering Dept.
Ms Adams left a voice message saying some work was done with the drainage ditches on her street this morning in the neighbor's ditch and also some asphalt paving was done right in front of her driveway and it's going to move a lot of water down her drive. She wants to get another drainage grate or a culvert or something at the corner of Pickwick. She said her property and the property next to her have spent thousands of dollars to manage the water that comes through their property and the city has been using their properties as drainage. The work they did on the street is going to put tons of water to the drain in front of their garage but it won't handle it all now. She is petitioning to see what they can do to get a storm grate put in.
Note location should be Winslow Farm Community Association storm water retention pond (DO NOT contact this home address). Note: I live at 414 E Wylie Farm road. My question is should soil erosion in Winslow forest be abated since we have a lot of soil in our storm water detention pond that seems to highly likely have come from Winslow woods (accumulated since WFCA pond was constructed in 1995).
Mr Richie left a voice message on 3/25/15 saying that in heavy rains, water rushes down Wylie and across Woodlawn and down his drive. At times it has gone into the basement. He said he is going to have his drive paved this year and he wants to know if a drain could be put in that would connect to the drain he says runs down the center of his drive.
This email was forwarded to me by Tom Axsom on January 8, 2015. It was forwarded to Tom by Joe VanDeventer: To the Department it may most concern; My wife and I moved to Bloomington last July and have been renting a bungalow on East 2nd Street for the past 6 months. We have been looking for a permanent home and are considering purchasing a particular home at 1929 E. Southdowns. There is one problem; there is an open drainage ditch running the length of the front yard where it meets the road. I assume it is a city easement and is city maintained. I am first and foremost quite concerned about the possibility of children being injured in the ditch, and would welcome the city installing proper pipes and covering the area. I’m also concerned about any liability I might have as homeowner. How might I go about obtaining a letter from the city which states that the city is responsible for maintenance of the ditch and has liability for any injuries that may occur? Thank you. Since I am considering making an offer on this property, your immediate attention is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Jim Quinn President RightRez, Inc. 227 W. Contractor wants to meet onsite to discuss a storm drainage prroblem and ways to correct it. Address: 2741 S Jalen Ct. Home sits below the curb line and has a swale in the backyard; both of which complicate the matter. The neighboring homes are all higher in elevation and drain straight to this property. Contractor would like to figure out a suitable correction that does not jeopardize CBU infrastructure, etc. Please contact him by phone today to set up a site visit.
Mr Gardner called again this week because he said the pipe under Wylie Farm road is still blocked and nothing has been done since he called in months ago.
