This project will connect the existing B-Line Trail terminus at Adams Street with the multiuse path on the 17th Street I-69 overpass. The proposed route will be along the eastern edge of West Fountain Drive to North Crescent Road, then north along the eastern edge of North Crescent Road to West 17th Street. Additionally, the project will reconstruct the intersection of West Fountain Drive and North Crescent Road. The project is programmed to receive federal funding assistance for construction.

The first public meeting was held on September 18th, 2019 at the Bloomington City Hall. The Project was introduced by the Design Consultant Aztec Engineering followed by a round of questions.
***Public Notice of Planned Improvement***
In compliance with the Construction Stormwater General Permit (CSGP) administered by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM), AZTEC Engineering Group, Inc (AZTEC) (320 W 8th St, Suite #100, Bloomington, Indiana 47404) hereby gives notice of future construction activity on behalf of the City of Bloomington. This project includes extending the B-Line Trail west and north from its current terminus at Adams Street to the intersection of Crescent Road and 17th Street by constructing a new paved multiuse path along the north side of the Indiana Railroad, the east side of Fountain Drive, and the east side of Crescent Road. The project will also involve realigning the Fountain Drive / Crescent Road intersection.
Estimated construction time is from June 2023 to June 2024. A Notice of Intent (NOI) will be submitted to IDEM with the intent to discharge stormwater from construction activities associated with the B-Line Trail Extension and Multiuse Path project located along Fountain Drive and Crescent Road, Bloomington, Indiana 47404; in Township 9 North, Range 1 West, in portions of Sections 31 and 32. In addition to the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4), the receiving waters are Griffy Creek, and an unnamed tributary to Clear Creek. A Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan for the project has been developed and will be implemented during construction. - Construction: The majority of the construction was completed in 2024. The section of path between Adams Street and Fountain Drive will continue construction through the summer of 2025. Construction is currently paused while additional soil testing takes place and the results are evaluated.
