Shelter house rentals may be made online or by visiting the Bloomington Parks and Recreation office at 401 N. Morton St. (City Hall), Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Shelters are available for rental April 1 through October 31. Reservations are available year round on a first-come, first-served basis.

Shelter reservations must be made either in person or online; we cannot reserve a shelter over the phone.

Shelter rental fees are per day, regardless of how long you actually use the shelter. Shelters are rented to only one party per day, and shelter rental times are from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m.

"Weekday" rental rates are Monday-Thursday; "weekend" rental rates are Friday-Sunday.

 

Reservable Picnic Shelters

 

Bryan Park - Woodlawn Group Shelter $72/weekdays, $87/weekends and holidays
This shelter is near Woodlawn Avenue and close to Bryan Park Pool and the tennis courts. It is wheelchair accessible, and has grills, electrical outlets, lights, and water (seasonal). See a map of Bryan Park showing shelter location. Maximum capacity 72 people.

Bryan Park - North Shelter $59/weekdays, $62/weekends and holidays
This shelter is located near the north side of the park and has a grill, water (seasonal), and electrical outlets. See a map of Bryan Park showing shelter location. Maximum capacity 30 people.

Bryan Park - Henderson Shelter $59/weekdays, $62/weekends and holidays
This shelter is near Henderson Street, close to the Tot Lot playground, and has a grill and water (seasonal). Electricity is not available. See a map of Bryan Park showing shelter location. Maximum capacity 30 people.

Building Trades Park - Shelter $59/weekdays, $62/weekends and holidays
Located in Building Trades Park on Second Street, this shelter house is wheelchair accessible, has accessible restrooms (open seasonally) and a grill but no water or electricity. Cascades Park (Lower) - Sycamore Shelter $82/weekdays, $97/weekends and holidays
Located in the lower portion of Cascades Park, Bathrooms (open seasonally) are a part of the building, and the shelter has grills, electrical outlets, fireplace, water and drinking fountain (seasonal), playground access, and a large parking lot. The Sycamore Shelter is wheelchair accessible. Maximum capacity 75 people.

Cascades Park (Lower) - Waterfall Shelter $72/weekdays, $87/weekends and holidays
This shelter has electrical outlets, lights, a fireplace, playground access, grills, and a volleyball court nearby. The nearby drinking fountain is out of order, and is scheduled for repairs in spring 2022. Maximum capacity 75 people.

Cascades Park (Upper) - Lion's Den $72/weekdays, $87/weekends and holidays
An accessible playground is nearby, and there are adult and children's picnic tables, electrical outlets, two grills, and a drinking fountain (seasonal) located at the shelter. Restrooms available in golf clubhouse during business hours, or Port-a-Johns located at shelter site. Maximum capacity 99 people.

Olcott Park - Howard Young Pavilion $72/weekdays, $87/weekends and holidays
This round pavilion is wheelchair accessible and has picnic tables, a group grill and electrical outlets. See a map of Olcott Park showing the location of the shelter. Maximum capacity 60 people.

RCA Community Park - Small Shelter $59/weekdays, $62/weekends and holidays
Located off Rockport Road/Countryside Lane on RCA Park Drive, this accessible shelter has a grill and large playground nearby. Restrooms (open seasonally) are located nearby. See a map of RCA Park showing the locations of the shelters. Maximum capacity 30 people.

Winslow Woods Park - Playground Shelter $67/weekdays, $77/weekends and holidays
Located off South Highland Avenue, this accessible shelter has grills and an accessible playground, electrical outlets, lights, and a drinking fountain (seasonal). A Port-A-John is located nearby. See a map of Winslow Woods Park showing the location of the shelter. Maximum capacity 99 people.

There are picnic shelters in these parks, but they cannot be reserved or rented. Use of the shelters below is on a first-come, first-served basis.
