Phone Call: Mr. Lucas would like to know why new truck rt. (2nd & Allen) is NOT being used by trucks? He says that trucks use Allen St. b/c its a straight shot, w/ only 1 stop sign. He feels that trucks should be ticketed and fined so that they know "Blmgtn. has a police dept.". He says that the police need to monitor the speed limit, or someone is going to get hurt. This is a residential area, and he wants to see trucks using the appropriate route.
I called Mr. Lucas and explained that we are in the process of installing the new truck route signs and will then place signs on Allen St. which prohibit truck traffic. Until the "No Trucks" signs are posted, the police are unable to ticket trucks that use Allen St.
